Few people would want to get on Ronda Rousey’s bad side. But pop star Justin Bieber felt that he might have risked doing exactly that. Bieber’s brief interaction with the former UFC champion once left her displeased with the “Love Yourself” singer’s behavior, and she never forgot about it.
How Justin Bieber snubbed Ronda Rousey and her sister
The MMA legend once recalled a brief and unpleasant moment that she shared with the iconic singer. In a resurfaced interview with Cosmopolitan, Rousey explained that the incident happened when she and her little sister, who was a Belieber, attended a Justin Bieber event.
“Justin Bieber was actually really rude to my little sister at the Cannes film festival,” Rousey recalled. “My little sister is very hard to impress. And so, we really didn’t care about anybody at the Cannes film festival, but I wanted to spend some time with her and other things. Justin Bieber was over there taking pictures with some ladies.”
Rousey’s sister was more than eager to meet the singer. Eventually, the two would approach Bieber and try to snap a picture with the star.
“I walked over there and said, ‘Excuse me.’ And he turned to me, ‘I’ve already taken a billion pictures today, ok?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, but, she’s the only 16-year-old girl at the whole party.’ And he goes, ‘A billion,’ and walks off. He totally snubbed my little sister,” Rousey said.
The incident rendered Rousey’s sister to tears, and Rousey stopped being a Belieber herself.
Justin Bieber pleaded with Ronda Rousey not to beat him up
The successful artist once addressed Ronda Rousey’s remarks in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. During the conversation, however, Bieber claimed that he had no recollection of these events.
“I guess, supposedly, she asked for a picture with her sister or something, and I guess I said no?” Bieber said. “But I don’t remember this happening, so, Ronda, I’m sorry. Don’t kick my ass!”
However, according to ESPN, his remarks on Rousey didn’t end there. As many know, the MMA star was once beaten in a bout with Holly Holm, which ended her undefeated streak. Although the loss bothered the Furious 7 actor at the time, Bieber decided to reference the loss.
“Did you see Ronda Rousey? She got knocked out cold,” Bieber allegedly continued. “Oh my God, she got knocked out so bad. Yeah, no, she got pummeled.”

Many know that Ronda Rousey’s stunning loss to Holly Holm had a severe emotional impact on the fighter. Perhaps one of the only people who know just how much it affected the current WWE megastar was none other than her sister. In a resurfaced interview, Rousey’s sister gave a bit more detail about how the defeat not only upset Rousey, but her family.
“Then there was Australia, where we expected Ronda to win. Just like we always do.” her sister told Rolling Stone (via Complex.) “But she didn’t. I haven’t rewatched it. I haven’t read about it. I don’t see a point in reliving the moment when a part of my loved one died, when I saw someone I cared about have her soul crushed.”
Although many gave Rousey a difficult time during this period, Rousey managed to get support from those most important.
“I saw how horrible people can be to someone they don’t even know, which made me even more appreciative when I saw how wonderfully Ronda’s friends and family treated her. Those are the people that matter,” Rousey’s sister said.
