The Kardashians rose to fame in the 2000’s as a crazy blended family in Southern California. Over time, they became more popular with the public. Today, they are known for being one of the richest families in Hollywood.

Fans often get to watch the Kardashians’ luxurious lives on TV as well as follow their social media feeds that are full of vacation pictures and expensive cars. Of course, the Kardashians’ opulent display of wealth has not come without criticism. In fact, some fans recently discovered problems with something the Kardashians often do – using too many balloons at their parties.

The Kardashian family’s extravagant lifestyles

The Kardashians earn a lot of money from their TV show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and its many spinoffs. Additionally, the members themselves also run their own businesses and take on other projects like hosting, modeling, and being social media influencers.

As a result, each of the Kardashians has an impressive net worth. Kylie Jenner is the wealthiest with a net worth of $1 billion. Kim Kardashian comes in at second place with a net worth of $350 million. Meanwhile, Kendall Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, and Khloe Kardashian all have net worths in the range of $40 to $50 million.

With all of this money around, it is not surprising that the Kardashians live in very expensive houses. They also have nannies, chefs, and other hired help to assist them in their day-to-day lives. Additionally, it goes without saying that they typically wear pricey clothes and jewelry that are worth thousands of dollars.

The Kardashian family has hosted some very big parties

Something that truly displays how much money the Kardashians have is their parties, especially the birthday parties for their children. The Kardashians do not celebrate by having simple pizza parties or small gatherings. Rather, they typically go all out with huge, extravagant bashes.

Last year, Khloe gave her daughter, True, a first birthday party that had flowers, ponies, and lots of fun games.

Not long after, Kim and Kourtney threw a Candyland-themed celebration for their two daughters who were having a joint birthday party. It included plenty of colorful decorations, a sweets-themed playhouse, and plenty of candy for the children invited.

Recently, Kylie celebrated her daughter, Stormi, turning 2 years old with an over-the-top party that reportedly cost at least $100,000.

Fans wish the Kardashians’ parties would use less balloons

Balloons are usually a large part of the Kardashians’ parties, though fans wish that the family would be more environmentally-conscious and not use too many of them. Balloons are made of plastic, and as such, take a long time to degrade while also posing risks to wildlife animals that consume them.

In a Reddit discussion about the excessive amount of flowers at Stormi’s recent party, a fan wrote: “But you know what’s worse than this?? All the damn balloons they use at parties. At least this will degrade quickly…. those balloons? They’ll take years and years.”

Another person agreed, writing: “It really does seem so unfair that no matter how much scrimping on plastic I do and how locally grown/vegan I eat there’s still people blowing up thousands of balloons for an Instagram photo. I wish we all took more responsibility for our planet and stopped glorifying unsustainable excess.”

Kourtney wrote in her Poosh blog that she and Kim used biodegradable latex balloons for their children’s Candyland party, though according to experts, those are not as environmentally-friendly either.
