Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex no doubt have their beauty secrets to achieve glowing skin but there’s one product the two reportedly both use. It’s been reported that Kate shared the elixir with Meghan and she added it to her beauty regimen.

Kate and Meghan both use a face oil in their skincare routine

While the specifics of Kate and Meghan’s skincare routine is unknown, the founder of Beuti Skincare, Leila Aalam, shared with Bazaar in 2019 that one of her company’s products is a staple for both of the duchesses.

According to Aalam, Kate introduced Meghan to the Beuti Skincare Beauty Sleep Elixir oil.

“Our source at the palace confirms that they gave Kate the Beauty Sleep Elixir, which is regularly replenished on her dressing table,” Aalam explained. “It was then reported that Kate was giving product to Meghan to use too, and now they both receive regular supplies.”

What is the Beauty Sleep Elixir oil?

The Beauty Sleep Elixir, according to the Beuti Skincare site, is a hydrating oil that can be applied morning and night. The product information claims the oil is effective with helping redness, dryness, and inflammation.

“The Beauty Sleep Elixir has a natural blend of 14 plant-based oils, including a Caribbean coral extract, which is a powerful anti-inflammatory as it neutralizes the enzyme responsible for skin aging, plus a sandalwood nut kernel oil to help prevent collagen and elastin break down,” the product description explains.

In addition to the coral extract and sandalwood nut kernel oil, the product’s ingredient list is long with a variety of oils.

Kate Middleton has an easy skincare hack

In addition to the rumored use of the elixir oil, Kate also reportedly has one easy hack in her skincare arsenal — the use of a microfiber facial cloth (or “flannel”) to remove makeup.

Kate’s makeup artist, Arabella Preston, shared the duchess’ tip with The Cut in 2017, explaining, “It’s all about the flannel.”

Preston called it a “quite necessary” piece of any skincare routine, noting how using the cloth is more gentle than a motorized cleanser brush, plus it effectively removes makeup while providing gentle exfoliation.

The “flannel,” or washcloth, has plenty of pros when used in a skincare routine including the fact that it can be washed and re-used.

Kate and Meghan’s healthy lifestyles are evident in their skin

In addition to quality products and a gentle flannel to remove makeup and exfoliate, Kate and Meghan owe much of their fantastic skin to a healthy lifestyle.

Dietitian Sophie Medlin told Hello! magazine in 2020 that lifestyle choices play a big role in the duchesses’ glowing complexions.

“The royals enjoy better skin quality than most of us because they have chefs and dietitians to look after their nutritional needs, access to excellent healthcare and beauty treatments,” Medlin explained.

She continued, “They might be less likely to be engaging in drinking alcohol, smoking and late nights which can affect our skin health.”

As for nutrition, Medlin said a varied diet is the best option. “The best advice is to follow a Mediterranean style of eating for optimal overall health,” she said. “Healthy fats like omega 3s and monounsaturated fats that we get from avocado and olive oil are good for our skin.”
