Prince William and Kate Middleton don’t engage often in a lot of PDA, and definitely not on the same level as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but occasionally they share a sweet touch for a fleeting moment. It looks like Prince William tried to get in a little PDA with his wife and she totally rejected it in an awkward moment captured on video.

Prince William and Middleton appeared on a holiday special

Prince William and Middleton took part in the special A Berry Royal Christmas, where they joined Mary Berry to cook for the people who volunteer for their charities. It was a great opportunity for them to give back and was slightly revealing about their cooking skills, too.

One moment captured during the special, however, has royal fans surprised, as William reaches out to touch Middleton’s shoulder and she appears to dodge it and shrug off his PDA.

It’s a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, but the video has been making the rounds and has many wondering if this snub means anything. Some believe that Middleton is just being aware of their image and royal tradition.

Etiquette expert Myka Meier told People in 2016 that Prince William and Middleton are “working representatives of the British Monarchy” and avoid public affection to “remain professional.”

By comparison, Prince Harry and Markle often hold hands or give loving touches and kiss in public.

Prince William and Middleton are a “pigeon couple”

Despite Middleton snubbing Prince William’s effort to put a hand on her shoulder, former Great British Baking Show judge Mary Berry noted that she could tell from her interaction with them that they are a “a pigeon couple” who mate for life.

She told Mail on Sunday You magazine, “They really are a pigeon couple,” adding, “It was easy to see that William is very proud of Catherine. He was keen to stress to me how none of his mental health charities would be what they were without Catherine, who puts so much time, effort and care into making sure everything works well.”

Berry further shared that there were close moments between the Cambridges during their filming, noting: “It was just lovely observing them for those three days. When they are together, he’s constantly touching her arm and looking over at her smiling and she’s the same with him. It was very sweet to see because it was so natural.”

Can the Cambridges cook?

As for their cooking skills, she shared that Middleton is a “confident cook.” Berry noted: “She’s a proper cook, for her children and for William. She’s a very hands-on mum. She told me she uses my pizza recipe and her children help her make them. Her own mum used to have my books, and Catherine grew up cooking with her. I know she has a lot of my books too.”

The couple even participated in a baking challenge and Berry explained that “they’re both very competitive, particularly William.” She added, “I was most impressed. In the end I declared a draw.”
