On June 17, 2006, the now-Duchess of Cambridge attended a charity polo match in Richmond, England, with her sister.
They sat on the sidelines watching William play. This happened more than four years before Catherine and William announced their engagement.
She attended a concert for Princess Diana with James Middleton
On July 1, 2007, Catherine arrived at Wembley Stadium for a concert in memory of William’s late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales with her brother, James.
The concert fell on the day Diana would’ve turned 46. William and his younger brother, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, spoke at the event commemorating their mom as James and Catherine watched from the crowd.

Ahead of Catherine and William’s royal wedding, Clarence House released some previously unseen photographs of the bride. One of them included an undated snapshot of a young Catherine standing by her even younger sister, and their father, Michael, with ancient ruins in the background.
The Middleton family had once lived in Amman, Jordan, where the photograph had been taken, probably by Carole.
The Middleton family attended the royal family’s Christmas Day church service
In 2016, the Catherine’s family joined British royals for their annual Christmas Day church service. The Duchess of Cambridge can be seen carrying a young Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, with her father, brother, and sister walking behind her.
A year later at the same event, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex would make her first big royal appearance with Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex ahead of their royal wedding in May 2018.
