Tatler Magazine Just Deleted Some of the Claims They Made About Kate Middleton From Their Scathing Article

After nearly a decade in the British royal family, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge has settled into her role as the future Queen Consort nicely. Though there were rumors about her alleged lack of work ethic in the early years of her marriage to Prince William, the duchess has been fully embraced by royal fans and experts.

Now, amid Megxit and the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Kate has stepped forward along with Prince William as the face of the royal family. As a new era of the royal family begins to take shape, the Cambridges are doing things a bit differently.

In June 2020, Tatler Magazine released a scathing article about Kate. Horrified, the Cambridges decided to sue. Though Tatler stood by their story at the time, they’ve just deleted huge chunks and claims from their article.

Written by journalist Anna Pasternak, the piece entitled “Catherine the Great” painted the Cambridge in a terrible light. Pasternak called Kate “perilously thin” and suggested that she was overworked and resented her workload following Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry’s exit from royal life.

“She manages to slag off [harshly criticize] her mother, makes William look weak and makes Kate look so dull,” royal expert Ingrid Seward told Newsweek. More than just throwing jabs at the Cambridges, the article also took swipes at Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, and mother, Carole Middleton.

Pasternack claimed that Prince William was obsessed with Carole Middleton and that the Middletons positioned their daughter to meet the prince and essentially trap him into marriage.

In a shocking move from the Cambridges, they immediately clapped back at Tatler when the article was released. “This story contains a swathe of inaccuracies and false misrepresentations which were not put to Kensington Palace prior to publication,” the Cambridge said in a statement.

Following in the Sussexes footsteps, the Cambridges also decided to sue Tatler for their false claims. “That is such an extremely cruel and wounding barb. It’s disgusting. It’s sexist and woman-shaming at its very worst,” a source told to Daily Mail. “The piece is full of lies.”

However, at the time Tatler stood firm on their article. A spokesperson told Entertainment Tonight,

Tatler’s Editor-in-Chief Richard Dennen stands behind the reporting of Anna Pasternak and her sources. Kensington Palace knew we were running the ‘Catherine the Great’ cover months ago and we asked them to work together on it. The fact they are denying they ever knew is categorically false.

Now just three months later, Tatler has changed their tune. The Telegraph reports that all of the references of the duchess’ weight have been removed from the article as well as notes about Pippa and Carole Middleton and that Prince William was “absolutely incandescent” about Megxit.

An insider told Mail on Sunday, that these changes were made in an attempt to call a truce. They said, “Tatler has a long-standing relationship with the Royal Family and wanted to end this amicably.”
