Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch is the most powerful hero

When asked about it at the New York Film Academy, Feige confirmed that Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, was the most “strongest” Marvel hero right now in a world after Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Feige essentially said that Maxmioff had the ability to kill Thanos, but was unable to follow through.

He said, “If you look at Endgame, Wanda Maximoff was going to kill Thanos. If he hadn’t desperately — that’s as scared as I’ve ever seen Thanos. And if he hadn’t said, ‘Decimate my entire team to get her off of me,’ I think she would’ve done it.”

Given comic events Scarlet Witch being the most powerful makes sense

It is perfectly plausible that Scarlet Witch is the strongest Avenger in the film universe because she’s one of the most powerful characters in the comics and has defeated numerous villains.

Also, there is, of course, the elephant in the room — her lineage. In most of her character history in the comics, she has been the daughter of Magneto, although this was retconned.

How Wanda will be one of the most important people in the MCU going forward

With most of the original Avengers now gone, Scarlet Witch will be one of the key Avengers and could even be one of their de facto leaders. She, along with T’Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) will be crucial in guiding Earth’s mightiest heroes.

As far as the next steps, Olsen will star as Scarlet Witch in Disney+’s MCU series, WandaVision. She will also star in the Doctor Strange sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with Benedict Cumberbatch. Both series are important pieces of work in phase four of the MCU because they will likely deal with time travel and the multiverse.

WandaVision will also introduce another character who will be very important to the Marvel movies going forward, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris).
