Khloé Kardashian Fans Are Pleading for Her to Stay Away From NBA Players After Her Latest Split From Tristan Thompson
While a majority of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters have a thing for musicians, Khloé Kardashian has always had eyes for NBA players. Since her rise to fame, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has dated several well-known basketball stars. However, each relationship she’s been in has crumbled, and it continues to happen as she just called it quits from her on-again-off-again boyfriend Tristan Thompson — again.
With news of her latest split from Thompson taking the internet by storm, some fans feel sorry for Kardashian and are urging her to stop dating NBA players to save herself from more heartbreak.
Khloé Kardashian is known for dating NBA players
Kardashian’s first publicized relationship with an NBA player came in 2008 when she started dating then-Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Rashad McCants. The pair’s relationship was short-lived as they were only together for about a month until she met another NBA player with who she ended up walking down the aisle.
In 2009, Kardashian met and fell in love with Los Angeles Lakers champion Lamar Odom. The two dated for a few short weeks before they decided to tie the knot. The pair married in a grand ceremony in LA on September 27, 2009. At first, it seemed Kardashian and Odom were a match made in heaven and had what it took to be together forever.
Unfortunately, things went south in their marriage due to the athlete’s drug use and infidelity. Kardashian filed divorce from Odom in 2013 but put the proceeding on hold after his near-fatal overdose in a Nevada brothel. Their divorce was finalized in 2016.
After separating from Odom, the Good American founder dated James Harden of the Houston Rockets. The pair lasted for several months but broke up after Kardashian claimed he had cheated on her.
Kardashian then went on to find love with Cleveland Cavaliers star Tristian Thompson.
The couple’s relationship blossomed fairly quickly as they announced that they were expecting a child together a year after they started dating. While it seemed as though the reality star had finally found her knight in shining armor, their romance turned tumultuous when Thompson was caught cheating on Kardashian just a few days before she delivered their daughter, True Thompson, in 2018.
A year later, the athlete’s infidelity made headlines once again when he allegedly hooked up with Kylie Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods at a house party. Though Kardashian ended their relationship after this scandal, she eventually forgave her boyfriend, and the two rekindled their romance in the fall of 2020.
However, their reconciliation didn’t last very long, as sources confirmed the pair’s latest split in June 2021 after Thompson was spotted getting cozy with other women at a party in Bel-Air.
Fans think it’s time Khloé Kardashian stop dating professional athletes
Though Kardashian is attracted to NBA players, some fans think it’s time for her to stop dating athletes seeing as her relationships aren’t working out.
Following her split from Thompson, a few fans took to Twitter to urge the reality star to end her professional athlete streak, noting that they are not good for her. Meanwhile, others pointed out that many of Kardashian’s exes have cheated on her and are convinced that she would better off with someone who isn’t a professional athlete.
Though many fans think it’s time that Kardashian looks for love elsewhere, this isn’t the first time people have urged her to date outside her immediate type.
While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with her sisters Kim and Kourtney in 2019, Kardashian was asked why she keeps going back to NBA players despite her relationships not working out. She told Kimmel that he likes what she likes.
However, the mother of one admitted that her family members have tried getting her to date non-athletes, especially her grandmother MJ, who has suggested that she date accountants.

Now that Kardashian has called it quits from Thompson for the third time, her family hopes that she doesn’t get back together with him later down the line.
According to People, the Kardashian-Jenners want the Good American founder to “move on with someone who treats her better.”
However, Kardashian isn’t sure that she wants to get into a relationship with someone new as she reportedly still wants to be with the Boston Celtics player.
“They have a complicated relationship. Khloé would love for them to be together,” an insider recently told the outlet. “She wants to have a romantic relationship with Tristan and not only be co-parents.”
The source says that Kardashian is having a hard time letting go of Thompson mainly because of the deep connection they share.
“Tristan has a way to make her feel the most special. She loves that feeling,” the insider continued. “Whenever they are broken up, it’s been very hard for Khloé to move on. She has yet to date someone else.”
While she isn’t ready to give up on Thompson, the reality star’s family would like to see her move on from him for good as they don’t think he’s the right one for her.
“Her family thinks Tristan’s behavior is very childish and unfair to Khloé,” the source adds. “They would love for her to move on with someone who treats her better. They also understand why it’s so hard for her.”
As of this writing, Kardashian is single and doesn’t have any plans to date anytime soon. Though it sounds like she’s looking to get back together with Thompson sometime in the future, we hope for her and family and fans’ sake that Kardashian moves on and finds someone who treats her the way she deserves.
