Khloé Kardashian Said Tristan Thompson ‘Freaked Out’ When She Wanted to Cut True’s Hair

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson follow this co-parenting example

During the Feb. 9 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kardashian shared some insight into how she and Thompson are handling co-parenting their daughter True.

Clarkson brought up how tough it is to co-parent and Kardashian shed some light on how she and Thompson manage things.

“My parents were the most perfect example and I was really blessed and fortunate to have that as my example and to see that,” Kardashian explained. “And even with my stepdad, the integration of all of that and how my dad and my stepdad dealt with one another was really just such a beautiful thing to witness. They played golf once a week and I’m sure that wasn’t easy for my dad but he did it for us. And so having that really selfless example was awesome for us.”

She continued, “I think with all of us, whether it be Kourtney and Scott, or Tristan and myself, we definitely, I try to mirror that and always keep it about the kids.”

“But with Tristan, it’s a trust thing. Tristan is so great and really trusts me as a mom and knows I’m always going to do the right thing for True,” Kardashian added. “So he really doesn’t tell me ‘no’ a lot of the times and I’m grateful for that because I think as moms we just sort of feel like we have the right to, we know what we’re doing with our kids.”

Khloé Kardashian said Tristan Thompson ‘freaked out’

While they’re mostly on the same page, the Good American co-founder said there was one thing that Thompson “freaked out” about.

“The other day, True is going to be three in April and I wanted to give her her very first trim and when I mean trim, like not even half an inch,” she shared. “I just wanted to cut some of her baby hairs. And Tristan I don’t think has ever told me no and he really freaked out by me wanting to cut her hair. It was so crazy to me how he was freaking out. He called my brother for my brother to talk me out of it. He called my mom.”

“I didn’t know he was that adamant about it until everybody else started calling me,” Kardashian continued. “But I didn’t do it because I also have to show him, ‘OK, if you don’t want me to do something that badly, I’m not going to do it.’”

“So it’s just I think great with communication and trust is the most important thing, I think, with raising kids,” she added.

Being a mom has changed Kardashian’s relationship with Kris Jenner

Kardashian dished a bit on how having her own child has changed her relationship with her mother, Kris Jenner.

“I think the minute I got pregnant I had so much empathy and compassion for my mom and just so much guilt too for everything I put her through or my attitude,” Kardashian explained.

“Now I think I have a totally different way of just even talking with my mother and receiving what she has to say to me … because I’m now a mom and I just have so much more empathy and compassion and I also understand why she drinks every day at 5,” she added.
