Khloé Kardashian Seems Like a Completely Different Person and Fans Aren’t Pleased
When you have built your entire career around a public persona, fans are likely to balk when that image goes through rapid changes. The Kardashian-Jenner sisters are no strangers to this reality. In fact, fans have turned plenty of negative attention on the way that youngest sister, Kylie Jenner, has changed over the course of the family’s reality show.
This is despite the fact that she was only 10 when Keeping Up with the Kardashians first aired!
If fans aren’t going to give space for a literal child to grow up and change as she becomes an adult, they’re certainly not going to be very forgiving of the older sisters straying too far from their established character traits. This is exactly the case with Khloé Kardashian.
Fans are quick to point out a shift in her public image, and they aren’t happy about it.
Khloé Kardashian has always struggled relative to her sisters
While the entire Kardashian-Jenner family is often discussed as one collective unit, the popularity of the individual sisters actually varies quite a bit. Khloe is the third sister in terms of birth order and the youngest of the Kardashian sisters. This means that she has spent a lot of time in her older sisters’ shadows while still being upstaged by her younger half-sisters as they were clearly the babies of the family by the time their reality show hit the screen.
Perhaps it is this sense of being stuck in the middle that has left Khloé Kardashian struggling to find a clear sense of self and foothold with the public.
She may have more social media followers and attention than her oldest sister, Kourtney, but that’s largely because Kourtney has been staying out of the spotlight in recent years.
The same cannot be said for Khloé. Her popularity drop isn’t a matter of obscurity. It’s because she is often enmeshed in scandals that fans see as unappealing.
Khloé Kardashian used to be fun according to fans
The biggest complaint about Khloé Kardashian’s change in personality is about her fun-loving nature. Fans took to Reddit to voice their dismay at just how much Kardashian has changed.
“Khloe used to be FUN and she’s just changed so much where she never lets loose or has fun anymore,” the thread opens. The post goes on to claim that Kardashian now seems like a “Stepford wife” who has to be perfect all the time.
Some of the comments started playing armchair psychologist. One wrote that “Khloe is a person prone to high levels of delusion. If she doesn’t want to face something she pretends it’s not happening.”
The implication is that her disconnect from her former persona is evidence of a disconnect from reality. The commenter went on to say, “She has no one in her life to tell her the truth.”
Some fans see Khloé Kardashian’s changes as trauma
Not everyone was so harsh about the changes, however. Many fans were quick to point out that Kardashian has been through a lot and that her very public ordeals have likely made her more cautious about how she portrays herself. Most notably, her famous break-up with Tristan Thompson and the feud with Jordyn Woods that followed has made an impact on Kardashian’s life.
“I think after everything she’s gone through she just keeps herself so composed all the time,” one fan wrote. The idea is that Kardashian is afraid of making herself the center of negative public attention, so now she tries to avoid anything that might draw public ire once more. “I think insecurity and trauma plays a big role,” another commenter agreed.
While fans may disagree about the source or acceptability of Kardashian’s changes, most seem to admit that she has, in fact, changed. The star was once seen as fun-loving and a little wild, but now she seems reserved, cautious, and unwilling to let loose.
