In 2016, Kardashian West was in Paris with her sister, Kourtney, and her entourage for Paris Fashion Week. She stayed at the No Address Hotel when she said two men held her at gunpoint and proceeded to steal millions of dollars worth of jewelry, including her $4 million engagement ring from Kanye West. Before the robbery, Kardashian West told Letterman that she and her friends had discussed what they would do if held captive.

“Me and my girlfriends, we had lunch that day and said, ‘If you guys were robbed, what would you do? Would you just give them the stuff?’ Why we had this conversation, it was so wild,” Kardashian West recalled. “And I said I would say, take everything, just take everything. Nothing is important. And then that night [I was robbed].”

Kim Kardashian West said she ‘mentally prepped’ for her burglars to rape her

The aftermath of Kardashian West’s robbery played out on multiple episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. She told her sisters Khloé and Kourtney that she thought the robbers knew Kardashian West was alone at the event. Her former bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, was out with Kourtney and Kendall Jenner when the robbers came into Kardashian West’s hotel. Kardashian West said that not only did she fear she would never see her husband and children again, she also thought the robbers planned to rape her that night.
