Across the globe, people are spending a great deal of quality time with their family amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. With mandated stay-at-home orders, quarantining, and social distancing, most people’s work lives has stalled and they are focused on themselves, their partners, and their children.

Celebrities and influencers who are used to being constantly on the go, no longer have access to their housekeepers, chefs, and nannies and perhaps for the first time in their lives, they are taking care of their daily housework and “everyday” tasks.

Kim Kardashian West has tried to make the most of social distancing and quarantining. The mother-of-four has been candid about how challenging it’s been to be locked in her home with her kids day-in- and day out, but she’s also having a lot of fun. The Skims founder is using this time to bond with her daughters and try new styles on their naturally curly hair.

Kim Kardashian West is very hands-on with her children

Despite her hectic schedule that includes Keeping Up with the Kardashians, her KKW Beauty and Skims brands, and her legal work, Kardashian West is extremely hands-on with her children. Though she obviously has help, she’s very involved with North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm on a daily basis.

“Kim is such a hands-on mom,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “She gives her kids anything within reason and will research everything they’re into to make it the best she can. She’s also very hands-on at school and preparing lunches and meals and snacks for the kids. Kim spent a lot of time finding the right school for not just her kids but her whole family. She did a lot of research, which she does with everything from what her kids should be eating to where to what school supplies they need. She has help of course, but she does a lot herself. She’s really good with the kids, very maternal, sweet and almost never loses her patience. It’s amazing.”

Since her children are Black, Kardashian has also taken a great deal of time to learn how to style their naturally curly hair.

Kim Kardashian West learned how to braid

When her daughter North was just three, Kardashian West learned how to braid. French braiding can be challenging for anyone, and if you’re unaccustomed to styling curly hair it can make the task even more difficult. Still, the KKW Beauty mogul was determined.

In Season 12 of KUWTK, Kardashian West hired celebrity hairstylist, Kim Kimble to teach her how to braid. She practiced on several mannequin heads before perfecting the style on North’s hair. “It’s like such a fun experience in the morning with North and I, just getting her ready and getting her hair done,” she said.

Now, Kardashian West is no stranger to styling her children’s hair, even 4-year-old Saint, whose curly fro is often styled in cornrows.

From buns to pigtails, Kardashian West has been open about trying new styles on her daughters. Now that quarantine has provided her with more free time, she’s been perfecting new styles for her girls.

“This pic is old but one thing I am doing during this time is practicing hairstyles on my girls,” she shared on Instagram. “Something we are doing tonight is getting flashlights and frog watching. There are so many in our backyard at night! 🐸 I will try to post pics if we spot any on my stories!”

Kardashian West has also been decorating her home for Easter and doing Zoom family dinners with her extended family.
