Although Kardashian has tried her best to move past this horrifying situation, this experience still haunts her to this day.

Kardashian West was robbed of $10 million worth of jewelry

On October 2, 2016, Kim Kardashian West experienced the scare of a lifetime when she was robbed in her Paris hotel room.

The reality star was in “the City of Lights” for Paris Fashion Week but a few hours after returning to her hotel with her sister Kourtney Kardashian and stylist Simone Harouche, West was robbed at gunpoint by five individuals dressed as police officers.

According to the police report, the thieves threatened the concierge to let them into Kardashian West’s room. Once inside, they tied her wrists and legs the wrapped duct tape around her mouth, all while Kardashian was begging for her life.

She went on to tell officials that the robbers stole two diamond Cartier bracelets, a gold and diamond Jacob necklace, Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings, a gold Rolex, and a few others items.

They even took her $4 million wedding ring.

After taking as much as they could, the thieves made their getaway, leaving the reality star unharmed.

The KKW Beauty mogul recalled this horrifying event during Season 13 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians when she publicly opened up about the ordeal for the first time.

“They ask for money. I said I don’t have any money,” she tearfully tells sisters Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian. “They dragged me out on to the hallway on top of the stairs. That’s when I saw the gun clear, like clear as day. I was kind of looking at the gun, looking down back at the stairs.”

“I was like; ‘I have a split second in my mind to make this quick decision,’ ” she recalls. “Am I going to run down the stairs and either be shot in the back? It makes me so upset to think about it. Either they’re going to shoot me in the back, or if I make it and they don’t, if the elevator does not open in time, or the stairs are locked, then like I’m f*cked. There’s no way out.”

The robbery has had a major influence on her everyday life

After experiencing this unimaginable situation, Kardashian West had a difficult time coping with all that happened to her once she returned home.

Although she quickly upped her security following the robbery, the reality star recalls that experience as “the scariest thing I’ve ever been through in my entire life — just, thinking that you’re about to die.”

While that moment still haunts her to this day, Kardashian West has been coping with the robbery in her own way.

During the brand new E! True Hollywood Story, “Who Is Kim Kardashian West?,” Kardashian touches up the heist, sharing that it has heavily influenced the life she lives today.

“That ten minutes really changed my whole life,” she said.

Aside from being cautious when it comes to her social media presence, Kardashian admits that the robbery has influence her to pursue a law degree and showcase her passion for criminal justice.

“There’s those moments in like that really change you, and shake you to your core. My robbery was definitely that moments for me,” she reflects during the hour-long special. “As crazy as this sounds, I wouldn’t give up that experience for the lessons I learned from it… Material things used to be so important to me. I measured my success by my material things. But there is nothing material that is important to me.”
