What is a present code in ‘Kirby and the Forgotten Land’? Plus, how to redeem them

A present code is a specific word or phrase that you can enter in-game to receive items like coins, food items, and Rare Stones. There are a handful of freebie codes hidden around Waddle Dee Town to start. Additionally, you might find more codes online later from Nintendo, video game stores, and media outlets. Twitter is a great place to check if anyone has shared new codes.

You can redeem present codes via the Waddle Dee-liveries stand in Waddle Dee Town, which opens up when Kirby saves 50 Waddle Dees. To redeem a code, simply talk to the Waddle Dee at the stand. He’ll have you enter the code using a keyboard on the Nintendo Switch screen. Then, a gift box will immediately appear outside Kirby’s house.

It’s important to note that present codes are case-sensitive, so they should be entered exactly as shown. Additionally, you can only redeem each present code once, and only one at a time. You must open the gift box at your house before heading back for another delivery. Some codes also require an online connection, which is available with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Every free present code in ‘Kirby and the Forgotten Land’ and what they deliver

Nintendo celebrated Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s launch by offering a present code via Twitter: MOUTHFULMODE. This code unlocks 100 Star Coins and a Car-Mouth Cake. However, it will only remain active until April 25, 2022, so fans should act fast to redeem.

Those who played Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s demo also may have noticed some codes at the end. If you have an online connection, you can redeem two codes for completing the demo and checking off all the demo missions:

  • CLEARDEMO (300 Star Coins)
  • NEWADVENTURE (300 Star Coins, 1 Rare Stone)

Finally, here are the remaining free codes hidden in Waddle Dee Town and what they unlock:

  • KIRBYTHEGOURMET (1 Rare Stone, 1 Car-Mouth Cake)
  • KIRBYSTORY (300 Coins)

You can redeem the above codes without first going to find their hidden locations. However, if you still want to check them out, you can explore the town and find them written on walls and rooftops. Here’s a handy tip: Kirby’s blue guide, Elfilin, will alert you with a speech bubble when they spot a hidden code.

You’ll find FIRSTPASSWORD on the wall of the building directly across from Waddle Dee-liveries. Meanwhile, KIRBYSTORY can be found inside the movie theater next to the magazines. Once you unlock the Waddle Dee Cafe, you can spot KIRBYTHEGOURMET by standing inside the flower pot on top of the building.

Later, you’ll find BRAWLINGCOLOSSEUM on top of the Colosseum. THANKYOUMETAKNIGHT is also inside the Colosseum, on the wall under Meta Knight after the credits roll.
