‘KUWTK’: Fans Think Khloé Kardashian Shouldn’t Praise Tristan Thompson for ‘Doing the Bare Minimum’ as a Father

Last year, fans believed Khloé Kardashian had broken up with Tristan Thompson for good after he cheated on her several times throughout their relationship. However, since Kardashian and Thompson share a daughter together, the two of them has continued to stay in touch to co-parent.

Kardashian has often praised Thompson for being a good father to their daughter True, including recently on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. However, fans think Thompson has simply been “doing the bare minimum” as a father and shouldn’t be fawned over.

There have been numerous reports these past several months saying that Kardashian and Thompson have rekindled their romance.

In late October, a source told E! News things improved for the couple during quarantine, saying, “They are together and very happy. She’s very happy that he’s around and that things have been going as well as they have.”

Kardashian also seemed to confirm this recently by sharing photos of her and Thompson’s matching Halloween costumes on social media.

Since the beginning, Kardashian has always shared kind words about Thompson’s willingness to co-parent True with her.

For example, in early 2020, Kardashian said of True’s father, “I know her dad is a great person, I know how much he loves her and cares about her so I want him to be there.”

Kardashian recently praised Thompson again on KUWTK. On the Oct. 29 episode, viewers watched as Kardashian got diagnosed with COVID-19. She expressed gratitude for Thompson for being there to take care of her and True during this ordeal.

 “No matter how sick I am, I’m still constantly focused and thinking about True,” she said during a confessional. “So, having her dad here, it gives me a little more time that I could focus on just me trying to get better.”

Kardashian also explained, “Tristan has been bringing me food. And then, he’ll knock on the door and I wait 30 seconds or a minute, then I go and get it. Tristan doesn’t live here, he has his own house, but I really appreciate how attentive and responsible he’s been.”

Fans think Tristan Thompson was simply ‘doing the bare minimum’

However, not every fan thinks Thompson’s actions deserve all the  praise Kardashian has been giving him. Since Thompson is True’s father, fans don’t think that, for example, he should be applauded for carrying out the duties of parenting.

“I hate this kind of comment in general,” one fan said on Reddit. “Quit praising fathers for doing the bare minimum of child rearing while women are expected to do 98% of the work. They are parents too.”

Some fans also suspect Thompson had nannies to help out. One person wrote, “You know damn well he didn’t stay alone with the baby, nanny was there for sure.”

In any case, even if onlookers are not happy about Kardashian giving Thompson another chance, it seems Kardashian is satisfied with her decision.
