‘KUWTK’: North West Has an Obsession With Kim Kardashian West’s Biggest Fear
Kim Kardashian West has a well-documented fear of spiders. It turns out her daughter North West is obsessed with them and wants a tarantula as a pet. You can guess how this request plays out as a new Keeping Up With the Kardashians clip shows Kim brainstorming ways to discourage North.
North West wants a pet tarantula
In a new teaser for Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim and Khloé Kardashian discussed how North talked her mom into going to a pet store to look at tarantulas. Kim said she even tried to pay off the pet store employee to talk North out of the idea that a tarantula is a good pet. It didn’t go quite as she hoped, however.
“So, somehow North conned me into going to this pet store that was right near her school and she wants to see the tarantulas,” Kim explained. “I go up to the lady first, I go, ‘Listen, I’ll pay you 100 bucks. Just say they’re mean to kids, not good pets, they bite everyone, say whatever you gotta say. I’ll pay you.'”
Her bribery attempt didn’t work and the pet store employee told them that tarantulas “make great pets” and even asked North if she wanted to hold one.
Kim Kardashian West is terrified of spiders
Remember when Kris Jenner told Kim she had a spider on her when they were in Puerto Vallarta? She completely lost it, prompting her to freak out and start to cry.
Kim explained in a KUWTK confessional, “I have a pretty awful relationship with spiders,” adding, “I absolutely hate them.”
The reality star didn’t sound like she was budging about allowing her daughter to have a pet spider, given her fears. For Kim, that’s a non-starter. “That is absolutely never gonna happen,” she explained. “Like, never ever ever, as long as she’s living under my roof, never going to happen.”
Khloé seemed a bit more open to the idea of Kim allowing North to have this pet even though her sister pointed out Khloé’s biggest fear: whales.
“Stop it! Who the f*ck would even go and approach a big a** whale?,” Khloe asked her.
In a confessional, Khloé shared her thoughts on helping her niece out. “North has always had an obsession with spiders. We don’t know why,” she said. “It’s just — it’s so ironic ’cause Kimberly is so afraid of them. North touches spiders, North catches spiders, and I think she just wants to share her love of spiders with her mom.”
“So I want to be supportive of North and plan something to help Kim conquer her fear of spiders,” she added.
Can Kim talk North out of the pet tarantula idea?
Kim had a brainstorm idea of her own — scare North out of the idea of having a tarantula in their home. “Maybe I’ll just… I’ll be sitting there and looking at my phone and I’ll be like, ‘Oh my god did you hear the news? All these kids died at a school from tarantula bites,” she said.
“I’ll just like scare the sh*t out of them,” she said with a laugh.
