Kylie Jenner is one of the most followed celebrities on social media. The makeup mogul has far reaches, and she recently used her influence to help her makeup artist with his surgery. Jenner went online to ask fans to help donate to the artist’s GoFundMe, thought the internet is not responding well to Jenner’s request.

Kylie Jenner reportedly gave $5,000 to her makeup artist’s GoFundMe

According to Buzzfeed, Jenner’s makeup artist, Samuel Rauda, got into a car accident in early March. Rauda was seriously injured and had to undergo surgery. Rauda’s family then set up a GoFundMe account asking for $120,000 to help pay for medical expenses.

Buzzfeed posted a screenshot that shows Jenner and Bella Thorne (two of Rauda’s celebrity clients) each publicly donated $5,000.

Jenner also shared the link to the GoFundMe page on her Instagram story. “Everyone, take a moment to say a prayer for Sam who got into an accident this past weekend. And swipe up to visit his family’s GoFundMe,” she wrote.

Fans are reacting negatively to Jenner’s plead

After Jenner posted about Rauda’s GoFundMe page, many fans on the internet reacted negatively to her plead for donations. According to these fans, Jenner should be the one to donate more money to the cause, not asking fans who can barely get by themselves.

“I understand it’s Kylie’s money and she can choose how to spend it, but I find it quite vile that she expects her fans (many of which are struggling financially due to the pandemic) to raise money for HER friend, when it literally would be chump change for her to cover his medical expenses,” one person wrote on Reddit. “5K from her is like giving a dollar. She could do one ad on Insta and cover the costs easily.”

Another fan said, “She should not be posting a GoFundMe page expecting her fans or even asking them to spend their money on something like that is. She flaunts her wealth constantly. That closet with the hideous bags and shoes? That alone is enough to cover the cost of her friend’s medical bills.”

However, some people did not see anything wrong with this situation. One person defended Jenner, saying, “She donated what she wanted to donate and then took to the internet to help a friend out. Its’ no different from what everyone else is doing nowadays.”
