Kylie Jenner is one of the most recognizable people on the planet. With 161 million followers on Instagram alone, she is no longer in the shadow of her older siblings. When Keeping Up with the Kardashians debuted in 2007 — Jenner was just a little girl. Her big sister, Kim, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian were adults who were dealing with drama and their ever-growing fame.

However, as Jenner stepped into her teen years, people started to notice her more. Still, her older sister, Kendall Jenner’s modeling career took off which kept the makeup mogul in the background. That all changed in 2015 with the launch of Kylie Cosmetics.

Since launching her makeup brand, Jenner’s influence has topped everyone in her very-famous family. In fact, this is the moment when Jenner realized just how famous she is.

This is how Kylie Jenner makes her money

Though her career launched off the back of KUWTK — the reality show certainly isn’t Jenner’s main focus these days. Her daughter, Stormi Webster, and her beauty brand are her number one priorities. Jenner launched Kylie Cosmetics when she was 18 with just three lip-kits that sold out in minutes.

Since then, she has gone on to expand her line into all kinds of makeup products as well as a skincare line, Kylie Skin. At the end of 2019, Jenner also sold her company to Coty Cosmetics coining it Kylie Beauty. However, she remains hands-on as the CEO and creative force.

It has been so successful that in March 2019, Jenner’s brand was evaluated at $900 billion — making her the world’s youngest billionaire and solidifying her fame for a long time to come.

Kylie Jenner doesn’t remember a time before she was famous

Like many of us, the early days of Jenner’s childhood are a bit hazy to her. In fact, she doesn’t quite remember a time when KUWTK wasn’t on the air. Even before then, her parents were pretty high-profile people.

“Even before the show, my dad always had an audience, so I was always around that energy,” she explained to Harper’s BAZAAR. “I don’t know. I think it’s a blessing, the way it happened so early, because I don’t really know what it would be like to not be famous or in the limelight.”

Though we’re sure the spotlight can get intense, we’re glad to know that Jenner feels prepared for it.

This is the moment Kylie Jenner realized she was famous

In recent years Jenner has garnered three of the top 10 most liked posts on Instagram, and when she tweeted her frustrations about Snapchat’s redesign in 2018, the company’s stock lost $1.3 billion of its value.

However, the moment she truly realized she was famous was during her teen years. “Probably more when I was on the red carpet with Kim,” she explained to Harper’s BAZAAR. “I always knew my family was a big deal, but me, solo, probably around when my pop-ups started. Or when I started dyeing my hair blue and cut my hair off, and then everyone started dyeing their hair blue and cutting it off. And I was like, ‘Whoa.’ I realized what an influence I had. I was probably like 16.”
