In the last several years, Kylie Jenner has arguably become one of the most popular celebrities globally. Though the 23-year-old makeup mogul got her start on her family’s reality series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the launch of Kylie Cosmetics put her on a new level.

Though the multi-millionaire has many fans, others have critiqued her for her constant cultural appropriation and for flaunting her lifestyle. Her lack of self-awareness has become a constant subject of conversation.

Likewise, Jenner’s drastic “new look” since growing up has also given fans pause. Though she is still very young, her constantly made-up face, ever-changing wigs, and her apparent obsession with photoshop and editing have left fans unsettled. Now she just shocked fans with an unretouched photo of her skin.

Kylie Jenner’s skincare routine is extremely controversial

Following the launch of her cosmetic line, Jenner branched out to launch Kylie Skin. When Kylie Skin launched in May 2019, fans were thrilled. Jenner had created an affordable and aesthetically pleasing line.

The skincare line includes a Foaming Face Wash, a Vanilla Milk Toner, Walnut Face Scrub, Moisturizing Eye Cream, and Vitamin C serum. Unfortunately, it has gotten very mixed reviews.

First, fans were alarmed during a promotion video when Jenner appeared to use her products but actually wasn’t. Fans were also taken aback by the Walnut Face Scrub which is terribly abrasive. Walnuts have been known for causing tiny scratches on the surface of the skin.

Kylie Jenner may get $3,000 facials

Before the launch of Kylie Skin, Jenner revealed a full-fledged list of cosmetics that she used in her skincare routine, and none of them had harsh and abrasive ingredients like the walnuts in her line.

In the past, Jenner, who does not appear to have any concerning skin issues, revealed that she used Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado for $35, Sephora Face Masks for $8, Super Salve Mimosa for $16, and Neutrogena Makeup Cleansing Wipes for $9.

Additionally, it has been rumored that she along with her big sister, Kim Kardashian West also indulges in $3,000 24 karat gold facials.

Kylie Jenner finally showed fans a photo of her real skin

Since she is the retouching queen, fans were stunned when Jenner shared an untouched photo of her skin. Over the weekend, Jenner shared a super close up selfie of her face on Instagram.

Though she had a full face of makeup, including pink blush and lips as well as yellow eyeshadow, her skin was on full display in all of its glory without any smoothing or flattening down.

Jenner captioned the photo, “no filter baby.” In her skin’s full and natural texture, it looked healthy and great. Jenner is the latest in a list of celebrities, including Lizzo and Jennifer Lopez who are being their most authentic selves by showcasing their bare and unretouched skin.

We think it’s great to show everyday people that textured skin is perfectly normal and beautiful.
