When Kylie Jenner first announced that she had given birth to her daughter Stormi after keeping her pregnancy hidden for months, many questioned how she would handle being a first-time mom.

Since the makeup mogul was only 20-years-old when she gave birth to her baby girl, a lot of people weren’t sure if she was ready — or even mature enough — to take on the responsibility of a parent.

However, soon after giving birth, it became clear that Jenner was born to be a mom and continues to prove that nothing in this world will ever come before her daughter.

So, here are a few things Jenner has said about motherhood that go to show that being a parent has changed her in the best way possible.

Jenner’s perspective on life has changed since becoming a mom

Before becoming a mother, Jenner’s main concerns in life were running her multi-million dollar company, maintaining her social media presence, and being there for her friends and family.

But after giving birth to her daughter Stormi, the Kylie Cosmetics founder’s priorities in life instantly changed as she realized that the focus was no longer on herself, but rather on her baby girl.

Since then, Jenner’s outlook on life has completely shifted and she admits that becoming a parent has allowed her to view things a lot differently.

“I always knew I wanted to be a young mother,” Jenner told Interview magazine back in March 2019. “I remember people used to ask, ‘Are you ready for this?’ And I always knew I was ready but you don’t know what that love and that feeling is like until after you have a child. She really comes before me so that is a lot to take in at a young age but I feel like I was definitely made for this and she has changed my life for the better. The way that I look at things is a lot more positive and I really feel like my life didn’t start until I had her.”

In addition to having a better perspective on life, the Life with Kylie star previously told sister Kim Kardashian West that she’s a lot more positive now that she’s a mom.

“I think more about the future because of her. Every time I leave and I’m stressed about leaving her, I’m like, ‘I’m doing it for you.’ Everyone says you change completely when you become a mom, but I really feel the same, just better,” she said during an ES Magazine interview. So I don’t know what really has completely changed my world, besides her, of course. But I feel like it’s only gotten better. You’re less selfish — and I actually enjoy changing diapers. It’s really satisfying. To make her clean again. And I don’t know, the whole thing is really … it’s like such an amazing experience.”

Jenner always has her daughter in mind

Though being a parent is hard work, Jenner has enjoyed every second of motherhood and continues to learn so much — not only about her daughter and being a parent, but about herself.

“I feel like it’s just been so amazing, and so much fun. I’m learning so much more about myself and life, and it’s been such a great experience,” she shared. “Of course there’s hard times and stuff … even in the beginning, just not sleeping, the nights, like, baby blues…and all the ups and downs. And also even when I’m here it was so hard to leave this morning. I’m like, ‘I’ll be right back, I’m so sorry, I have to leave!’ and she doesn’t even know what’s going on. I think about her all the time, anywhere I am. I would rather be with her or wish she can come everywhere. I can’t wait till she can come everywhere with me, because right when she’s old enough I’ll bring her everywhere.”

Though being a mom has allowed her to understands a lot more about what she thinks is important in life, Jenner recently revealed that she hasn’t lost sight of herself during her motherhood journey.

Although her main focus in life lies with Stormi, Jenner has learned that embracing all the things that make you who you are is something that shouldn’t go away when one has a child, which she credited boyfriend Travis Scott for teaching her.

“You remind me that motherhood and sexuality can coexist, and just because you embrace your sexuality doesn’t mean you have loose morals or you’re not a good mother,” she told the rapper during their 2019 Playboy cover shoot. “You can be sexy and still be a bada*s mom.”
