Are Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper Married?

In their sensational 2018 remake of A Star is Born, Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga stunned as Jackson and Ally respectively. Their chemistry was so breathtaking that the movie has now been nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards, and both Cooper and Lady Gaga have been nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress.

In the film. Cooper’s Jackson is a rock star who is fighting some personal demons. Meanwhile, Gaga’s Ally is a waitress, and struggling musician. Since the two literally sizzled on the screen, we wondered, are they married in real life?

Are Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper married?

We’re sorry to burst your bubble, but Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper are not actually married in real life. The Hangover actor has been in a relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk since 2015, and they have a daughter together. Meanwhile, the “Born This Way” singer has been engaged to talent agent Christian Carino since 2017. The pair is very quiet about their love, but Gaga did say, “The best part about being in love with someone is having them there to catch you if you fall.”

How did Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper meet?

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper met one fateful day in 2016, and their first encounter was almost identical to how Jackson and Ally met in A Star is Born. Cooper was attending a cancer fundraiser where Gaga was performing  — Édith Piaf’s “La Vie en Rose.” It’s the same song that Ally sings when Jackson spots her in a drag bar. The Silver Linings Playbook actor told The New York Times, “My mind was blown.”

Gaga remembered that first encounter similarly. She told Stephen Colbert,

I sang the night before I met him at an event for cancer thrown by Sean Parker, and I was singing ‘La Vie en Rose’ — I was doing a jazz set that evening,” she said. “Bradley just happened to be in the audience, and I got a phone call that he wanted to meet me the next day, and he came to my house. I was like, ‘Oh my god, what’s going on.’ He came into the home, and I looked into his eyes, and I just felt an instant connection with him. He made me feel so comfortable. The second that I saw him, I was like, Have I known you my whole life? It was an instant connection, instant understanding of one another.

Are Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper friends?

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper have been super close friends since they first met, and their bond only grew after working on A Star Is Born. Gaga told Good Morning America,“We had instant chemistry when I met him. As soon as I opened the door to my house and saw him, it was like, ‘You hungry?’ We’re both Italian and from the East Coast and before I knew it, I was heating up some leftovers for him and we were eating together.”

Friends for life

After Gaga, convinced the Hollywood star to use his real voice to sing in A Star is Born, she earned his trust. The actor/director told People of his friend and co-star, “I made a friend for life. As great as this movie was, the thing that I think I’ll take away forever is the relationship I have with her because she is an incredible person. I’m very lucky to have worked with her.”

Admiration and respect for each other

Since Gaga has never acted and Cooper has never sung professionally, A Star is Born was built on mutual trust and respect for one another. Gaga gushed to Entertainment Weekly saying, “It just has changed me. Watching Bradley work was phenomenal and then having him believe in me — it gave me more ammunition to believe in myself, and I just feel so blessed to have had that experience.”
