Lady Gaga has always been one to make statements on the red carpet.

On February 24, the singer-actress completely turned heads as she walked the 2019 Acadamy Awards red carpet wearing a one of a kind diamond necklace.

“The Tiffany Diamond” graced Lady Gaga’s neck the entire night and even though fans loved seeing the dazzling piece of jewelry, this was not the first time it was worn by a well-known celebrity.

The yellow diamond necklace is the world’s largest diamond

Lady Gaga was definitely one of the best dressed celebrities of the night as she arrived at the 2019 Oscars ready to steal the show.

The actress wore a simple Alexander McQueen black strapless gown that came with matching black opera gloves and oversized hip pads.

Though Lady Gaga looked absolutely beautiful, onlookers just couldn’t take their eyes away from her necklace.

Lady Gaga showcased the yellow stone the entire night and she even accepted her very first Oscar Award all while the necklace glistened in the spotlight.

The “Shallow” singer wore a 28.54-carat Tiffany & Co yellow diamond necklace that is formally called “The Tiffany Diamond.”

The necklace is reportedly worth between $30 and $50 million and this was the first time it has been worn on a red carpet.

Tiffany revealed that the diamond is “deemed one of the world’s largest and finest fancy yellow diamonds,” and that it was “released from the vault specifically for Lady Gaga.”

The diamond was once worn by Audrey Hepburn

“The Tiffany Diamond” first made its appearance in Tiffany’s Fifth Avenue store front windows in 1955.

The necklace was so large and dazzling, you could see it clearly from across the street.

The diamond necklace has only been worn by three people in its 64 years.

The first person to wear the diamond was the wife of American diplomat Sheldon Whitehouse, who wore the necklace at the Tiffany ball in 1957.

Five years later, legendary actress Audrey Hepburn wore the diamond in publicity photos for her movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

In 2012, the diamond was transformed into a “magnificent necklace of dazzling white diamonds” on the 175th anniversary of its founding. Which is how it still looks to this day.

The necklace looked similar to one another famous actress once wore

Most could tell Lady Gaga channeled her inner Audrey Hepburn with her dress and the diamond necklace at the 2019 Oscars.

However, fans on social media couldn’t help but point out how similar the necklace looked to one that was once worn by Kate Hudson.

Some took to Twitter to share how closely The Tiffany Diamond resembled the diamond necklace Kate Hudson wore in the 2003 film How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days.

For those who have seen the movie might recall when Andie Anderson had had the privilege of wearing “The Isadora Diamond,” which was also a sparkling yellow gemstone.

Even though the diamond necklace in How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days was definitely a sight to see, Lady Gaga showcased a diamond that has now made history.
