Speaking on The Hollywood Raw podcast in an interview published on Nov. 9, Pippen opened up about Kardashian West’s relationship with Kris Humphries. She claimed that Kardashian West was interested in the NBA star first but was initially unsuccessful in getting connected to him.

“She called me and Scottie and asked us to set her up with him and Scottie said, ‘No way.’ Scottie was like, ‘Nope’ … and she did it anyway,” Pippen said, referencing Scottie Pippen, whom she married in 1997 before filing for divorce in 2018.

After connecting through former NBA star Jordan Farmar, Kardashian West and Humphries started dating in 2010. Less than a year later, they were engaged. Humphries proposed in May 2011 at the reality star’s home in a scene that was captured on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Sometime after the engagement, Pippen ran into West, who had been crushing on the KKW Beauty founder ever since meeting her in the early 2000s. She claimed that he asked her to set him up with Kardashian West, despite her relationship with Humphries, and that she actually attempted to do it.

“Kanye saw me at a game and said, ‘Hey, I wanna be with her.’ And I called her when she was engaged to Kris Humphries and was like, ‘You can’t marry Kris! You gotta be with Kanye!’ Like I was there throughout the whole thing,” she said.

But as we know, Kardashian West went on to marry Humphries in a fairytale wedding in August 2011. However, she infamously filed for divorce 72 days later, explaining on Oprah’s Next Chapter that she started seeing a different side to the NBA star once they moved in together.
