Raise your hand if you aren’t sleeping tonight, ARMY. Because the BTS x Lauv “Make It Right” collaboration is dropping early Friday morning. Seriously, we’re starting to think Big Hit Entertainment doesn’t care much about our sleeping habits. Jokes aside, the new remix has the whole fandom buzzing with excitement. But, no one’s as excited as Lauv, who recently opened up about making the collab with BTS. His comments about how the song came together and enthusiasm over its upcoming release prove the “I Love Me Better” singer is a true member of ARMY.

BTS and Lauv ‘Make It Right’ collab release date and time

Wednesday, Oct. 16 was a strange day, to say the least. Despite reports of BTS’s collaboration with Lauv, Big Hit Entertainment released a statement revealing they could not confirm the new “Make It Right” remix.

However, Lauv posted a fun picture alongside the seven members of BTS from their meeting at Wembley Stadium in June 2019. He captioned the photo, “did I finally #makeitright?”

The BTS account — handled by members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — then responded to Lauv’s tweet. “You always #makeitright,” the caption read.

Nevertheless, on Thursday morning, Big Hit officially confirmed the release date and time for the BTS and Lauv collab after all the speculation on social media.

“Make It Right (feat. Lauv),” the company’s account captioned a graphic for the release. In the image, Big Hit revealed the remixed track will drop on Friday, Oct. 18, at 6 p.m. KST — or 5 a.m. EDT.

Lauv explains how the BTS ‘Make It Right’ collab happened

On Thursday, Oct. 17, the “Feelings” singer stopped by WiLD 94.9’s AT&T THANKS Sound Studio in San Francisco. And Lauv was kind enough to share how the “Make It Right” remix with BTS came to be.

“It was actually really simple,” he said. “I had seen that they had tweeted and covered my songs in videos, which I was freaking out about, you know. And then I went to their show at Wembley Stadium in London and I met them for the first time.”

Then, as they say, the rest was history. “Right after that, they were like we should do a remixed version of ‘Make It Right’ and you should do it,” Lauv continued. “I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ That’s so crazy.”

The music artist also teased what fans can expect when the “Make It Right” remix drops on Friday morning.

“You guys will hear that I’m at the top of the song. It’s so crazy to me that my voice starts it,” Lauv stated. “I got to rewrite some lyrics in English and it was a cool process.”

The ‘I Love Me Better’ singer opens up about his excitement for the remix

Now, Lauv recognizes his “Make It Right” remix with BTS is a big deal. When speaking with WiLD 94.9, he pointed out the stark difference between previous collaborations and the one coming on Oct. 18.

“I have done some collabs, but I haven’t really done collabs that have been outside of a little bubble,” the 25-year-old said. “So I’m really excited about that.”

The singer-songwriter also confessed he was so excited about the new song that he couldn’t sleep once Big Hit made the announcement.

“It was 2 a.m. this morning and I literally couldn’t sleep because I was so excited for it to happen — the official announcement. And from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. I barely slept,” Lauv explained. I just got up and got McDonald’s at 4 a.m. and I just started working on another new song. It’s crazy.”
