Little House on the Prairie is a classic television favorite. The show aired from 1974 to 1983 and featured a talented cast starring Michael Landon, Melissa Gilbert, Karen Grassle, Melissa Sue Anderson, and more. However, there were some episodes that seemed to fall flat compared to the others. Here’s a look at some of the worst episodes from each season of Little House according to IMDb.

‘Little House on the Prairie’ Season 1 Episode 23: ‘To See the World’

During this episode, Mr. Edwards (played by the late Victor French) tries to do some damage control after telling Johnny Johnson exaggerated tales of his adventures. Johnny takes off on a quest to see the world after hearing Mr. Edwards’ stories, so he accompanies him on the trip and tries to convince him to return home. Mitch Vogel plays the role of Johnny.

‘Little House on the Prairie’ Season 2 Episode 4: ‘In the Big Inning’

Walnut Grove is set to compete in a baseball game against Sleepy Eye. Jebediah Mumford and Slick McBurney are expected to be the stars of the game. However, a problem arises when Jebediah’s wife, Margaret, expresses concern after hearing the townspeople are placing bets on who will win. Margaret is very religious and doesn’t agree with this. However, Caroline Ingalls (played by Karen Grassle) comes up with an idea that might resolve this issue.

During this episode, Laura (played by Melissa Gilbert) does chores for Mr. and Mrs. Parsons in exchange for their goat, who was going to be shot. Laura names him Fred and hopes to keep him around as her companion, much to Parson’s relief, who wants to get rid of the animal. Unfortunately, the goat gets into a lot of trouble.

The Ingalls family and some of the residents of Walnut Grove attend a fair. Laura gets distracted and chases after Bandit, leaving her sister Carrie behind. Chaos ensues after Carrie climbs into the basket of a hot air balloon ride and is carried away.

Laura’s friend, Jordan Harrison, becomes blind after doing a circus stunt. Jordan’s vision returns, but he tells Laura not to say anything. His parents were about to get divorced but seemed to get closer after the accident.

Charles and Caroline meet some old friends from school. Charles hears news about smaller farming operations in jeopardy of losing their businesses to larger farming operations. Also, Caroline becomes jealous after hearing about the success of one of their friends.

This episode received a low viewer rating of 6.5 out of 10. During episode 14, Almanzo’s mischievous nephews visit Walnut Grove.

All the Walnut Grove children love Gambini the Great. However, a terrible accident occurs during one of his stunts.

‘Little House on the Prairie’ Season 9 Episode 14: ‘The Older Brothers’

IMDb rating: 6.8

After getting out of prison, the Younger brothers hold up Mr. Edwards for a ransom. Their plan is to turn themselves in so they can receive the reward money.
