‘Locke & Key’ Season 3 will close out the series

The upcoming season of Locke & Key will mark the comic book show’s conclusion. Showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill announced the news back in April, explaining to Deadline that three seasons had always been the plan.

“Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion,” the showrunners shared in a statement. “As storytellers, we are grateful that we had the opportunity to tell our version of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s incredible story exactly the way we wanted. We’re keeping the magical keys, though, for our own personal use.”

Locke & Key Season 3 will include eight episodes. Netflix plans to release all episodes at the same time.

‘Locke & Key’ Season 3 release date revealed with a new teaser

The new teaser trailer offers an exciting look at the magical final chapter. As the clip begins, a deep voiceover says, “The past is always with us. You can try to run away, but it’s always there.” Then, several scenes from the new episodes flash onto the screen. In one, Bode Locke (Jackson Robert Scott) uses a key that unlocks an elaborate door with an hourglass lock design.

The teaser also features moments with Frederick Gideon, Locke & Key‘s newest baddie. He appears to unleash a dangerous power, but the Locke family isn’t afraid to stand up to him. One action-packed moment shows Kinsey Locke (Emilia Jones) using the Chain Key to capture Gideon and throw him across the room. Finally, the teaser closes with a shocking reveal: the demon, Dodge (Laysla De Oliveira), has returned.

Netflix also revealed a Locke & Key Season 3 release date of Aug. 10.

He allowed a Whispering Iron to infect him with a demon so he could wreak havoc on the town. At the end of the season, Eden (Hallea Jones) brought Gideon back as an Echo. What evil plans will he have for the keys in season 3?
