Tahiry Jose and Joe Budden were once engaged

Jose was a main cast member for the third and fourth seasons of Love & Hip Hop: New York. She departed the show after the fourth season and didn’t come back to the series for many years before returning in the 10th season as a supporting cast member.

Budden and Jose first began dating in 2005. The show chronicled the on-and-off relationship between Jose Budden. Jose left Love & Hip Hop: New York just as the fifth season was beginning, though she reportedly taped scenes for it that did not make it into the series.

Recently, Jose had an interview with Hollywood Unlocked where she levied abuse allegations against Budden. “That relationship left me with a fractured rib and a broken nose because somebody was sending him a message,” she said in part. “It started with verbal abuse, emotional abuse and it eventually turned to that. I still fear for my safety. He hurt me bad and I just stayed quiet.”

Budden claims that what Jose said isn’t true

During a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Budden debunked the allegations from Jose and said that there wasn’t any truth to them. “Incidents like these taint true victims of domestic violence,” he said. For me this was nasty and disgusting and for too many years because I’ve chose to remain quiet about certain things just so you could continue a certain narrative. Those days are over, now what was alleged here let me start with this young lady is a liar a cancerous toxic liar.”

Budden actually claims that she was the abusive one to him, not the other way around. He said, “Today I’m very comfortable saying you are abusive, you used to beat my a**, you threw sh*t, you hit me, you kicked me, you did a whole bunch of sh*t that’s not normal for a man to speak out about, because it makes you appear less manly, but that was a really, really toxic situation. None of that needs to be for public consumption.”

The rapper and podcast personality alleges that while Jose claims that he was the one who broke her nose, he was not the one responsible for it. Budden alleges that this was another man that did it to her.

“You were not clear in how and when and why you got your nose broken,” he said in part. “You called me when you got into that physical altercation with that gentleman, and he punched you in your face and your nose was broken. Why this story is coming up now and how it’s related to me exactly I’m unclear. But I can tell you what happened since your memory seems to be a bit foggy all of a sudden.”

Jonathan Fernandez has now made claims against Jose

After Budden’s statements, another Love & Hip Hop: New York star, Jonathan Fernandez, is claiming that Jose assaulted some crew members during her time on the show. Fernandez alleges that she assaulted three men and attempted to assault him.

“She assaulted, not one, not two, but three male crew members from the show with her purse,” he said during a recent Instagram Live. “She assaulted them physically. And when I addressed her about it she said I don’t remember, I blacked out. Don’t bring that up to me because I don’t remember.

Fernandez says that he’s making this known because they are “two different things.”

I’m not doing this to say anyone deserves to get hands put on, but it’s a very different message to say I was beating on a man and he retaliated against me than to say, I was abused by men,” he added. “It is two very different things.”
