Tahiry Jose accused Joe Budden of domestic abuse

This all started after Jose did an interview with Hollywood Unlocked and alleged that Budden abused her.

“I think that the way I was dealing with being in a relationship with Joe was just tucking it, hiding it because I can’t stop,” she in part. “I have to keep going because people rely on me because I have to handle stuff, because I have to grow in this business because I’m not going to fold.”

Detailing the abuse, she told the hosts, “That relationship left me with a fractured rib and a broken nose because somebody was sending him a message. And I used to always say, ‘Stop beefing out there, I’m still working.’ And he hit me on that nose and then pushed me down a flight of stairs…I remember having a plan to leave because the reason he was so upset was because I was already leaving, looking through my phone and s**t. But I had already told him [to] give me two weeks to pack up my things. He agreed to it and then started looking through my phone. Next thing you know, I got woken up by him dragging me by my ankle. I managed to get up from that floor.”

Budden denied the claims, calling Jose a liar and insinuating that she was making it harder for victims of abuse. “Incidents like these taint true victims of domestic violence,” he said. “For me, this was nasty and disgusting and for too many years because I’ve chose to remain quiet about certain things just so you could continue a certain narrative. Those days are over, now what was alleged here let me start with this young lady is a liar a cancerous toxic liar.”

Here’s what’s said in the leaked conversation

It is unclear how the conversation made its way onto the internet. The call is nearly 20 minutes long. Much of the conversation is about co-parenting their son, Lexington. At one point, Budden talks about them reconciling and says that he loves her. However, it is clear from this audio tat Santana does not want to go back in this direction. Budden presses her to meet in person, and this is when Santana says something that catches listeners’ ears.

“Everything that we’re discussing, I swear it would go so much different if you and I could talk,” said Budden in the audio, as reported by Hot New Hip Hop. Santana rebuffs this, stating that they are talking, and adding, “Oh, you mean in person so you can chase me again and drag me? I’m good.” Budden denies this and Santana says that he could have been drunk and can’t remember it.

He questioned her, stating, “I dragged you? I laid a hand on you and dragged you where? Where did I drag you, Cyn?” When Santana suggests that he was intoxicated, he said, “No, I was not drunk. I’m very aware of what was happening. Very aware.” After this, the conversation returns to their child. Santana would go on to allege that Budden “kicked” her and the child out of the house and didn’t give any money.

Budden seemingly responds to the audio

Thought he didn’t directly refer to the drama directly, Budden appeared to send out a tweet about it on Tuesday morning. When someone tweeted him and said the situation didn’t look good for him, he quote tweeted it and said, “It’s illuminating out here, we don’t see it the same.”
