What is ‘The Oval’ about?

The Oval is the first of several series for BET (and its parent company, Viacom) that Tyler Perry created under his deal there. According to BET’s official description of the series, The Oval “tells the story of a family placed in the White House by people of power while also highlighting the personal side and everyday lives of the staff who run the inner workings of the nation’s most iconic residence.”

The show’s cast includes Kron Moore, Ed Quinn, Ptosha Storey, Brad Benedict, Ciera Payton, and Paige Hurd. The network says that the show is the television season’s No. 1 new scripted series in its key demos.

Who is Erica Dixon?

Erica Dixon is one of the original cast members of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. She was a main cast member for the first four seasons of the show.

In season 7 and season 8, she appeared as a supporting cast member. She was introduced as and is primarily known as the ex of rapper Lil Scrappy and the mother of his daughter, Emani. She frequently had issues with Scrappy’s mother, Momma Dee, but had made peace with her upon her return in the later seasons.

Dixon is one of the most popular cast members in the Love & Hip Hop franchise and was subject to a recent Twitter thread in which fans sung her praises.

Fans think Erica Dixon and Kron Moore look alike

Since the premiere of The Oval this fall, people on social media have noted that there are uncanny physical similarities between Dixon and The Oval‘s Moore.

One person tweeted, “The 1st lady from the oval looks a lot like Erica Dixon from LHHATL or maybe it’s just me.”

“I thought the woman on the Oval was Scrappy ex girlfriend Erica Dixon,” said another. A newcomer to the show added, “I’m just now jumping on The Oval bandwagon (thanks mom) but first lady resembles Erica Dixon from Love n Hip Hop.”

Someone also posted a parody tweet, noting Moore’s resemblance to Dixon and said that Quinn looked like Bradley Cooper.

The Oval airs Wednesdays on BET.
