Amber Pike and Matt Barnett got married on the first season of Netflix’s Love Is Blind. They got engaged without ever seeing each other and passed the test of living together in “the real world” before saying “I do” in front of friends and family.

Amber and Barnett’s rough start after ‘Love Is Blind’

During the reunion, Amber opened up about the struggles she and Barnett had faced since the season wrapped.

“I know there was one point where we almost broke because we had such expectations out of what we wanted out of a husband and wife,” she said. “And we knew we were married and we knew we were in love, but also, we were still learning each other.”

Amber admitted she even considered getting a divorce.

“I, at one point, actually called about potentially getting a divorce lawyer. Something’s not working,” she said with a nervous laugh, adding, “Sorry, Mama Barnett! I love you, just kidding!”

“I’m a stubborn a**hole,” Barnett chimed in.

“I’m stubborn, too, so we butted heads a lot,” Amber replied. “And that took time to figure out how to do, because when we were still in the bubble on this show, we hadn’t really butt heads at that point, because everything was just so perfect.”

But, eventually, the couple found their rhythm.

“We stopped trying to force what we wanted on each other,” Barnett said. “Once that happened, it’s just nothing but really good things since then.”

Married life for Amber and Barnett

Once Amber and Barnett figured out what worked for them, they’ve been really happy. And since they had to keep their marriage a secret until the show aired, they’ve been posting photos on their Instagram accounts from their year together.

From these photos, we’ve learned that they went on a trip to Italy where they “spent about 87.9% of our Italian vacation imitating statues” and gave each other piggyback rides.

They went to concerts, like Hootie and The Blowfish and Incubus.

And they’re into cosplay!

“Hi, we’re the Barnetts… and we’re huge nerds! I can’t believe I get to have so much fun with the man I get to call my husband… ITS HUGE, and I’m SO LUCKY and SO THANKFUL!! 🤣… and SO IMPATIENT for Dragon Con 2020! What should our next cosplay be??” Amber captioned a photo of her and Barnett as Emo Ash and Umbreon.

And lots of fun stuff in-between. Though Amber and Barnett had a rocky start to their marriage, it seems they’re solid currently and have a great time together.

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Barnett!
