When a friendship is meant to be, you just know it — and that is exactly what happened with MGK and Barker. According to Nylon, MGK came from a “broken home”, and after Barker built a studio near where he lives, the two of them found any reason to spend as much time there as possible.

The studio, which is fully equipped with an apartment, gym, office, and kitchen, became a place where MGK and Barker’s children spent plenty of time as well. Everyone was able to enjoy the loving environment as the two musicians worked hard on their joint project, and MGK says that:

“We’d be in there ’til 6 a.m. … my daughter would sleep over with his kids, it was just kind of like a family support system going on to help us. … we really bond as unconventional dads, and he’s a great role model as a dad and made me want to become an even better father.”

What has Travis Barker said about being a dad?

Barker may be a successful artist, but first and foremost, he is a family man, and fans have been noticing that more than ever lately. He has two children, Landon and Alabama, and there is no doubt that they make their dad as happy as can be.

Following in their dad’s footsteps, they both have musical aspirations, and Barker has amazing things to say about them. When talking about his kids, the drummer glowingly said that:

“I love being a dad. I always say that’s my best … it’s better than any song I’ve ever made or any accomplishment I’ve ever had, or I’ve done. I feel like being a dad, just nothing compares, you know?”

It’s amazing that Barker is so close to his children, that he inspires them, and that he encourages his friend to do the same.
