Joanna Gaines hosts Magnolia Table

Gaines hosts the cooking series Magnolia Table where she cooks her family’s favorite dishes. These are a combination of recipes from both her and her husband Chip’s clans. Her recipes are also a nod to her Texas roots, with southwestern and Tex-Mex notes sprinkled throughout.

Subsequently, some of Gaines’s most popular recipes are for chocolate chip cookies, her mother’s bulgogi with cucumber kimchi salad, and macaroni and cheese.

However, it’s Gaines’s biscuit recipe that has genuinely won favor with her husband of 18 years.

“Chip thinks they are nothing less than heaven on earth,” she says in Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering.

“Every Saturday, he has the same breakfast—fried eggs cooked over-medium and two biscuits. One slathered with butter and strawberry jam and the other one tucked under a generous serving of sausage gravy.”

Gaines said one of her family’s most beloved dishes is made by a family friend named Gail.

As she introduced the recipe in her first cookbook, she said Gail’s generosity was a winner with her brood.

“When we were in the thick of filming our show, our family friend Gail offered to cook. Her crispy breaded chicken cutlets with creamy Fettuccine Alfredo are one of our absolute favorites. I always put out lots of extra lemons to squeeze on top of the chicken. I serve it with a green salad,” Gaines subsequently wrote.

To make the crispy chicken that stars in Joanna Gaines’ Chicken and Fettuccine Alfredo, you will need the following ingredients, about six boneless chicken breasts, and salt and pepper.

Also necessary are flour, eggs, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, olive oil, and butter.

The ingredient list for the Fettuccine Alfredo includes fettuccine noodles, butter, fresh garlic, heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and pepper.

Tenderizing the meat is key to this perfectly delicious chicken breast. Use this method by pounding the chicken breast into a thinner consistency. Or, one can also slice the meat in half crosswise to create two thinner pieces from one larger-sized chicken breast.

Making this chicken recipe is similar to that of making a fried chicken cutlet.

As for the Fettuccine Alfredo, the method couldn’t be more straightforward. It includes melting butter and sauteing garlic in it until soft. Whisk the cream until thickened. Toss Parmesan and pepper with the hot pasta until fully coated.

The recipe for Ms. Gail’s Chicken and Fettuccine Alfredo can be found on the Magnolia website.
