Meghan McCain is going strong on her third season as The View co-host. The conservative star tends to divide the public but her role is critical to understand both sides of politics. Her passion for what she believes in has landed her in hot water. Increasing rumors that McCain is not happy on the morning show continue to grow and there’s one person that could make her quit for good.

While making an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, McCain made a stunning revelation. The political analyst was talking about her feud with Whoopi Goldberg back in December where the latter told her to “stop talking.” The two since then have moved past it and McCain added that she couldn’t do the show without Goldberg.

“It was rough,” McCain said about the blowout with Goldberg. “I will say that she was having a bad day and we talked about it that night and the next day. It’s live TV and it’s really stressful times for everyone. I adore her. She apologized off-air, she apologized on-air. We all f***-up on the show. I forgive her and I love her and I could not do the show… if she leaves, I go.”

McCain said that Goldberg is such a personality on the show that if she quits, she would follow her quitting as well.

“Whoopi is the anchor of the show and my life there,” McCain continued. “She always picks us up when we’re down. If she jumps, I jump. Whoopi is… I adore her and I need her as the moderator.”

Meghan McCain fears being fired

Coincidentally, during McCain’s previous appearance on WWHL, she talked about the constant fear she has. The Republican pundit said that she always thinks she’s going to get fired from The View.

“I go in assuming I’m going to be fired every day,” McCain said during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live in September 2019. “Every single day. Yes, every day.”

At this time, McCain had recently experienced a feud with Ana Navarro on the air. Cohen asked if she had ever been closed to getting axed from the show.

“It’s more the tone we are [at] culturally, people get canceled so easily,” she explained. “And by the way, Joy has this same thing, because we are the most honest and raw. And we’re always going to say something that is going to be too far one way. So I say it sort of jokingly, but sort of not.”

Meghan McCain shuts down rumors around Abby Huntsman

One of the biggest rumors this year was around Abby Huntsman’s abrupt exit from the ABC talker. Numerous reports pointed to a bad relationship between her and McCain but that wasn’t entirely true.

“Abby and I have been friends for over 10 years. Our parents were friends in politics, we worked at Fox together, part of the reason of why she came to The View is because we were friends. We are still very good friends. We are very close and I just talked to her yesterday morning,” McCain said on WWHL.

However, McCain did confirm there was a fight between her and Huntsman.

“We did get in a fight, which is a very small fight and a friend-fight,” McCain confirmed. “All friendships have ups and downs and it was bizarre for me to have the fact that we got into one fight to be put under dissection in the media.”

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. PT/CT.
