Mar10 Day: Every Mario & Friends Game Included in Nintendo’s Huge Sale
We’re finally in March once again, and Mario fans know what that means: Mar10 Day. Nintendo has kicked off its annual, week-long celebration of the Italian plumber with the Mar10 Day Sale, featuring discounts on popular Switch games starring Mario and his friends. In addition to games, many retailers also have discounted Mario merch, so now is the time for die-hard fans to stock up. Here’s what to expect from Mar10 Day sales.
What is Mar10 Day?
There’s a very simple reason why Mario fans come together on March 10 every year — “Mar 10” looks like Mario’s name. For the past decade or so, March 10 (and the week around it) has symbolized the beloved video game character, who entered the gaming scene in 1981’s Donkey Kong.
Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has become a legend for creating the Super Mario franchise, which takes Mario all over the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond to save Princess Peach. Mario has now appeared in more than 200 games; some have even become Nintendo’s best-sellers.
So, in honor of Mario’s journey, Nintendo hosts its annual Mar10 Day Sale. Plus, the week sometimes includes limited-edition items or big announcements. The gaming giant has been working with Illumination Entertainment to create a new animated Super Mario Bros. movie, so some fans have wondered if a trailer will drop on Mar10 Day 2022.
Nintendo Switch Mar10 Day Sale includes discounted Mario games
It’s the perfect time for Nintendo Switch owners to nab some new Mario games. The official Mar10 Day Sale, which runs until 11:59 p.m. PT on March 13, features seven popular titles. Most of them have around a 30 percent discount, but one goes up to 83 percent off. Here’s the full list of games included in the Nintendo Mar10 Day Sale on the eShop:
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 (30 percent)
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (33 percent)
- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury (33 percent)
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (33 percent)
- Luigi’s Mansion 3 (33 percent)
- Yoshi’s Crafted World (33 percent)
- Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (83 percent)
Additionally, the sale includes the Luigi’s Mansion 3 Multiplayer Pack at a 30 percent discount. Fans can also nab a bundle of the base game and the multiplayer pack for 32 percent off. Mario & Sonic Olympic Games and Yoshi’s Crafted World even have demos available for fans to try before they buy.
Mar10 Day doesn’t only include game sales
Stores like Target, Walmart, and Amazon have also gotten in on the fun with Mar10 Day merch sales. For example, Walmart’s Mario Week Sale includes Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit for $60, as well as discounted Mario-themed controllers and cases. Meanwhile, Target has a sale on the Hot Wheels Mario Kart Circuit Trackset. Even McDonald’s is celebrating Mar10 Day with the return of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Happy Meal Toys.
