Former actress turned fashion icon, Mary-Kate Olsen normally stays outside of the spotlight. Following her retirement from the silver screen, The Row designer along with her twin sister, Ashley Olsen has been living a much more private life. Though they are photographed at high-profile events like The Met Gala each year, they rarely give any interviews or do any press.

Unfortunately, all eyes are currently on Mary-Kate Olsen. The Elizabeth and James co-founder just file for divorce from her husband of five years, Olivier Sarkozy. Divorces certainly aren’t uncommon. However, fans were startled because it looks like things between the Full House alum and the French businessman have gotten ugly very fast.

The 30-year-old just filed an emergency divorce decree after Sarkozy allegedly tried to evict her from their formally shared NYC apartment in the middle of a pandemic. She also wants to make sure that her prenup is enforced.

In 2004, they appeared in the final feature film together, New York Minute. Though Mary-Kate would appear in the show Weeds, the women completely shifted gears when it came to their careers. They would briefly attend New York University before launching their billion-dollar fashion labels, The Row and Elizabeth and James.

The Olsens have been extremely smart when it comes to their finances. According to Celebrity Net Worth, they are worth $500 million together, or approximately $250 million each.

In 2012, Olsen met French banker Olivier Sarkozy at a party. The designer was reportedly immediately smitten with the French banker despite their 17-year age gap. They would eventually get engaged in 2014, tying the knot in 2015 at a private ceremony in New York City.

“I think we’re lucky [working hard] comes quite naturally for us,” Olsen said in 2017 in a rare interview with Porter magazine. “We don’t need so much time to sit and think and ponder. But then I have a husband, two step-kids and a life; I have to go home and cook dinner. I ride horses on the weekends. You find the thing that helps you relax and if you don’t have it, look for it. Or you get burned out and then you’re not productive.”

The pair seemed like a good match for some time with the investment banker being worth $60 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.
