Mary-Kate and Ashley began making money at a young age

Mary-Kate and Ashley first rose to fame in the late 80s, before either of them could even talk. When they were only a few months old, the twins snagged the role of Michelle Tanner on the ABC sitcom Full House. The sisters appeared as Michelle throughout the show’s eight-season run, which concluded in 1995.

Initially, the Olsen twins earned $2,400 per episode on Full House, according to the Washington Post. But as they got older and their popularity grew, their salary jumped to $25,000 per episode.

Toward the end of the series’ run, when their character Michelle was even more central, the pair earned an eye-watering $80,000 per episode.

But they didn’t stop lining their bank accounts after Full House was taken off the air.

In 1993, the twins founded Dualstar Entertainment Group, LLC. Through their company, they produced a series of TV shows, magazines, video games, and other popular media.

They also created made-for-television films, such as Double, Double Toil and Trouble, It Takes Two, and Passport to Paris. The Olsen twins created, produced, and starred in over 20 films within a 10-year period. Their final joint film was the 2004 comedy New York Minute.

As adults, the famous twins ventured into fashion

After New York Minute, Mary-Kate and Ashley retired from acting to develop their own fashion line.

Since then, they’ve created several high-fashion brands, including their couture fashion line The Row and their contemporary vintage collection, Elizabeth & James.

The twins have also published their own book, Influence, and launched a fashion line in Oslo, Norway.

These days, the sisters are known more in the fashion industry than the acting business, thanks to three CFDA Fashion Awards and appearances at black-tie extravaganzas like The Met Gala.

Today, Mary-Kate and Ashley are worth the same amount of money

In the early 2000s, it was rumored that Mary-Kate and Ashley were official billionaires thanks to their combined earnings from television, movies, and their various fashion ventures.

But despite their massive success, that rumor was eventually debunked as the Olsen twins have a combined net worth of $500 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Now, you’re probably wondering: Is one twin worth more than the other?

Since they’ve continued to work primarily under their joint brand, the Olsen twins are worth the same amount of money, approximately $250 million each.

Even though they haven’t reach billionaire status just yet, the twins are running a billion-dollar company as that is how much their entire fashion empire is currently worth.

So, even though both sisters are worth the same amount of money, they are still two very successful women with an incredibly bright future ahead of them!
