When Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex got married in May 2018, people all over the world envisioned certain things for the royal family. Prince Harry, his brother, Prince William, and Prince William’s wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge had been known as the “royal trio” for years, making appearances and attending events together.
When Meghan came into the picture, everyone hoped that she and Kate would become instant best friends, maybe even going so far as to become the next Fergie and Princess Diana. However, that didn’t exactly happen, leaving many people a little disappointed.
The Cambridges and the Sussexes did make a few appearances together, and it is true that they were almost immediately dubbed the “fab four” but this didn’t last long. Before anyone knew it, rumors of a rift between Meghan and Kate were swirling, with some people saying that the two duchesses couldn’t even stand to be in the same room together.

After college, the now-duchess decided to pursue acting, and after a few small roles, she gained fame as one of the stars of the legal drama Suits. Meghan was famous in her own right before meeting Prince Harry, and to say that she lived a completely different life than Kate did is somewhat of an understatement.

There were rumors of Kate leaving a dress fitting in tears after Meghan’s demands became too much for her to handle, and the news outlets began reporting that the two of them weren’t even on speaking terms.
According to Town & Country, the two of them never really spent much time together at all, despite the fact that they were both living at Kensington Palace, at least in the beginning. We did see them together at Wimbledon but beyond that, it appeared as if Meghan and Kate were keeping their distance from each other, leading many people to believe that they just didn’t like one another.

Well, as it turns out, their relationship seems strained due to the fact that they barely know each other. They each have their own close circle of friends, and never really had the opportunity to form a friendship.
In fact, according to Tatler, the new book about Meghan and Prince Harry called Finding Freedom, explains things perfectly. The authors suggest that their relationship just seems to be strained simply because they don’t know each other. According to the book, they “were not at war with each other either” like most people were led to believe.
It is great to know that there isn’t any real tension going on between Meghan and Kate, and we hope that they find the time to get to know each other better in the future.
