The split that shocked everyone

Since before they were even married, Meghan and Harry had been taking massive backlash from the British tabloids. It was pretty easy to see that they weren’t exactly happy with their position as senior royals, but that doesn’t mean that anyone could have predicted the fact that they would decide to leave the family. Even so, Insider reports that there were some signs that may have indicated that the split was coming.

Meghan and Harry wanted nothing more than to live a more quiet life than they had as royals, and they were tired of constantly being harassed by the media. As we know, Harry even took the opportunity to release several statements in defense of Meghan when he felt that the tabloids were going a bit too far. Megxit, which was announced early in 2020, became final in the springtime, and everyone has continued to keep a close eye on Meghan and Harry as they begin their journey independent of the royal family.

Tonight in London, for their third consecutive year, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the annual Endeavour Fund Awards, which celebrates the achievements of those veterans injured in service who have taken part in remarkable sporting and adventure challenges over the last year. By choosing to take on what seems impossible, these men and women not only set goals for themselves but have also inspired millions of people around the world. These annual awards bring together The Duke and The Duchess alongside wounded, injured and sick Service personnel and veterans as well as their families, friends and supporters of the military community. The Duke, who founded the @EndeavourFund, spoke on the night: • “The Endeavour Fund came from seeing the gaping hole that can be left after taking off that uniform. The power that sport and adventurous challenge plays in recovery, yes; but most of all – the chance to be part of a team again while attempting to achieve unthinkable challenges – as if being shot or blown up wasn’t enough, you guys continue to impress, inspire and challenge what it means to have a life changing injury.” • Since its launch in 2012, the Endeavour Fund has supported 108 projects that have directly assisted over 6,000 of those injured in service. Congratulations to all those who participated in endeavours over the last year and inspired others to push the boundaries of what’s possible! #EndeavorFundAwards

So, where did the authors of the book, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, get their information from? According to Tatler, there were over 100 sources ranging from friends to staff who were all willing to give their take on the situation. While we do know that Meghan and Harry themselves never contributed to the book, the authors did hear from past and current royal staff, as well as plenty of people from Harry and Meghan’s inner circle.

Scobie is a British-Iranian journalist and Durand is an American journalist, and we, along with millions of others, look forward to reading what they have written. The fact that the information included in the biography comes from friends who are so close to the couple, as well as people who have worked directly with them, makes it extremely credible, and we know that fans will get the answers they have wanted for such a long time.
