Meghan Markle’s Biggest Critic Slams ‘Scheming’ Duchess for Splitting Prince Harry From the Royal Family, Demands They Be Stripped of Titles
People have some strong opinions about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s announcement about taking a “step back” from their royal duties, and the duchess’ biggest critic has plenty to say. TV personality Piers Morgan didn’t hold back on his feelings about the news, blaming Markle for the whole thing and demanding that they be stripped of their titles.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they are quitting their royal duties
Prince Harry and Markle took a lengthy break from their royal duties and when they returned, they had some big news about their future.
The couple took to Instagram to announce that they were taking a “step back” from their senior royal status, noting, in part: “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.”
They shared: “It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.”
Piers Morgan took aim at Markle
It wasn’t long before Morgan, who has long had an issue with Markle, weighed in on the matter, pointing the finger at the duchess for being the root of it all.
The Good Morning Britain presenter tweeted: “’People say I’m too critical of Meghan Markle — but she ditched her family, ditched her Dad, ditched most of her old friends, split Harry from William & has now split him from the Royal Family. I rest my case.”
He added: “What Meghan wants… Meghan gets.”
When one royal fan pointed out that Markle was “the victim of the most vicious racism and media bullying here” and that it’s “been painful to watch,” Morgan fired back: “Oh pur-lease. What’s been ‘painful to watch’ has been their absurd woke hypocrisy & constant whining. All on our dime.”
When the queen’s statement was released about the situation being “complicated,” Morgan tweeted: “BREAKING: Buckingham Palace says ‘it’s complicated’. Translation: the Queen’s bloody furious.”
After it was reported that the Sussexes didn’t consult with any members of the royal family about the move, Morgan tweeted: “Wow. What a disgraceful way to treat The Queen. Shame on Harry & Meghan.”
In response to one Twitter user who told Morgan to leave them alone, he noted: “No. She’s breaking up our royal family after fleecing the public purse. As a taxpayer, and a Monarchist, I’m entitled to take a rather dim view of this.”
Morgan wasn’t done, of course
The whole situation gave Morgan a lot to sound off on and he didn’t hold back, calling the Sussexes “the two most spoiled brats in royal history.”
Piers, who has been miffed at Markle after he claimed she “ghosted” him, wrote a scathing piece for the Daily Mail, claiming the Sussexes are “deluded” and should be fired and stripped of their titles.
He kicked off his article by noting: “Who the f**k do they think they are? Seriously? I’ve seen some disgraceful royal antics in my time, but for pure arrogance, entitlement, greed, and wilful disrespect, nothing has ever quite matched the behaviour of the ‘Duke and Duchess of Sussex.’”
He went on to share: “If I were Her Majesty the Queen, I would unceremoniously strip Harry and Meghan of all their titles with immediate effect and dispatch them back into civilian life.”
Calling them “two deluded clowns,” he bashed them as hypocritical “super-woke celebrities” … “who get to keep all the trappings of royal life without any of the hard, boring bits and the right to cash in on their status however they choose.”
Morgan continued: “So, they want the glitz, the glamour, the splendour and the stupendous wealth.. they just don’t want to have to actually earn it. What a pathetic joke.”
He went on to call out the Sussexes for not notifying Harry’s grandmother of their decision, noting that the queen has “had to suffer the repulsively rude indignity of being treated like a piece of insignificant dirt by her own spoiled brat grandson and his scheming, selfish D-list actress wife.”
Morgan shared: “To put it bluntly, she’s an unsavoury manipulative social-climbing piece of work who has inveigled her way into Prince Harry’s heart and used his blind love as a platform to now destroy everything he once held so dear.”
