People better watch their step around Meghan Markle. The former Suits star has an impressive acting resume that includes training in martial arts and kickboxing. Although the Duchess of Sussex is clearly not one to be messed with, her former trainer has praised her for being very “sympathetic” during their sessions.

Meghan Markle has training in martial arts

Before she met Prince Harry and became a member of the royal family, Meghan had a successful career in Hollywood. She enjoyed minor success in small projects and commercials before landing a role in the hit legal drama, Suits.

One thing that helped Meghan snag the part was her impressive acting talents. Along with learning several languages, including Spanish and French, Fox News reports that celebrity trainer Jorge Blanco taught Meghan everything she knows about martial arts and kickboxing.

“I trained Meghan when she was in Toronto during the shooting of the series Suits,” Blanco shared. “We did a little bit of martial arts, a little boxing, and sometimes kickboxing. I never really thought she could end up being a princess!”

Meghan’s acting resume also included tap dancing, jazz, ballet, and musical theater. Fans never got to see all of Meghan’s talents on the show, but perhaps now that she is no longer a member of the royal family she’ll put them to good use.

Meghan and Harry are now living in Los Angeles, where they plan on setting up a second home base. It is unclear what the two plan on doing for a living now that the crown is no longer funding their endeavors, but returning to acting is a possibility for Meghan.

Meghan Markle’s former trainer says she was “super sympathetic”

Blanco went on to share a little more about his experiences training Meghan for her role on Suits. Along with the fact that Meghan speaks Spanish with an “Argentine accent,” Blanco revealed that she was always very nice during their sessions.

“I had a great time training with her because she is super sympathetic and also speaks Spanish with an Argentine accent,” he explained.

Blanco, who also has a law degree, has trained quite a few celebrities over the years. This includes Drake, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Pattinson, and Elsa Pataky. He also extended an invitation to Meghan if she ever wants to resume her training. Harry, of course, was also invited.

We do not know if Meghan has any plans to re-start her martial arts training, but she is a big advocate for yoga, pilates, and Lagree. In fact, she has confessed in previous interviews that she thinks Lagree — which is sometimes called Power Pilates — is the best workout for the body.

Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, is also a yoga instructor, which could be where her passion for the practice started. And now that she is living closer to her mom, perhaps Meghan will have more time on her hands for things like yoga (and kickboxing).

The Sussexes settle down in LA

Harry and Meghan move to LA sometime in March. The couple had planned on launching their new charitable organization, Archewell, and starting the next chapter when the coronavirus pandemic pretty much delayed everything.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been keeping out of the spotlight since their move from Canada to the United States, but they have had plenty of friends to lean on during the crisis. In fact, the couple has an impressive circle of friends that includes some of Hollywood’s biggest names.

At the top of the pair’s list of A-List friends are Serena Williams, Oprah Winfrey, Priyanka Chopra, James Corden, and Abigail Spencer. Harry and Meghan are also good friends with Amal Clooney, who was a guest to the pair’s wedding with her husband, George Clooney, in 2018.

Some of these celebrities, like Chopra, live close to the couple’s new home, while others, such as Williams and Corden, have been friends with the Sussexes for quite some time.

Meghan Markle is also closer to her mother, who will no doubt play a larger role in her life in the years to come. Ragland flew out to London when Meghan gave birth to her son, Archie Harrison, and the mother and daughter are reportedly very close.
