Meghan Markle’s Evil Eye Necklace Has Royal Fans Buzzing

Following her final royal engagements in early March 2020, and her move to Los Angeles, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has been laying low. The Suits alum has been adhering to the Stay-At-Home ordered issued by the State of California. As a result, she and Prince Harry have only been spotted volunteering. When they aren’t delivering food to vulnerable LA residents, the pair have been spending quality time at home with their son, Archie Harrison.

Though the Sussexes’ plan to launch their Archewell brand and step into other projects is currently on hold due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, that hasn’t stopped them from connecting with their family, friends, and charities virtually.

In fact, Meghan’s recent coaching call with a client of her Smart Works charity has everyone talking about a standout piece of jewelry.

Meghan Markle has taken control of her image since Megxit

One of the things that Meghan had very little control over in the royal family was her image. As someone who had perfected the way she presented herself as an actress, this was a major struggle for her. Though she was able to embed subtle messaging in her clothing and accessories by using sustainable brands, she still had to be very careful about everything she did.

“As an actress, Meghan expects perfection,” royal expert Duncan Larcombe, told The Sun. “But when you’re in the royal family, you have to learn that it’s not about you, it’s about what you represent.”

Now, post-Megxit, the duchess is taking control of her image.

“It’s been such an honour to meet and learn from so many talented women in the Smart Works network over the years, and recently to see the amazing work they’re doing to adapt their programs to the reality of this pandemic. Their ability to continue to empower women and help them harness the confidence they need to succeed during this time is inspiring." – a message to our clients from the Duchess of Sussex. ⠀ Since moving to a virtual service six weeks ago we have delivered 200 hours of support to our clients. ⠀ From the volunteers who have been delivering coaching online to the staff working behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly – the energy, passion and commitment has been overwhelming. ⠀ We couldn’t do this without the support of our community and on the 27th March we were honoured that our patron, The Duchess of Sussex kindly volunteered some time to speak with one of our clients ahead of her interview, offering words of advice and encouragement. During the session the Duchess praised her for being “such a beacon of hope” and “focusing on getting through this”. ⠀ When asked about her patronage she said, “it’s a pleasure to support them, you see how great they do and how many people they help and that’s what it’s all about. I’ve been really proud to be able to be their patron, but it’s an easy yes when you have such incredible women helping you.” ⠀ After her session with the Duchess our client had this to say: ⠀ “I just wanted to say a big 'thank you' to you, the Duchess and the whole team at Smart Works for making this possible for women all around the UK, because to see such work is truly inspiring and uplifting. And thank you for the super useful interview tips – I will be using them for years to come!.” ⠀ The Smart Works service is available for any woman who is unemployed and has a confirmed job interview, referrals are made by our employment support partners including women’s charities and Job Centre Plus. Our mission is to help anyone who needs it, no matter the circumstances.

Meghan Markle’s evil eye necklace has fans buzzing

In a recent video for her Smart Works charity, an organization that supplies underprivileged women with work clothing and preps them for interviews, the duchess wore a stunning necklace.

The long-pendant necklace, called the Visionary Charm Necklace is from one of Meghan’s favorite brands, Edge of Ember. It features a gem-studded evil eye symbol. Edge of Ember is committed to ethical and sustainable jewelry which is why the duchess probably loves them so much.

For $175, you can snag your own evil eye necklace on either a 19″ or 21″ chain. However, it wasn’t just the look of the necklace that stunned fans, it was also the enticing meaning behind it.

Meghan Markle’s evil eye necklace has an incredible meaning

We all know that the duchess struggled within the British royal family. In fact, she is currently battling several British tabloids and newspapers for publishing a private letter she wrote to her father.

“[Meghan said] no one would have put up with it, and the broken and outdated system would have been revised. Those outlets responsible for their vicious attacks would have been shut out,” a friend told the Daily Mail. “[Meghan] said it was infuriating that Harry’s very real and valid concerns fell on deaf ears. Meghan said they made it seem like this is the way it is, deal with it. Harry had been dealing with it far too long. She said he wasn’t going to let this destroy her life and their marriage.”

The duchess’ evil eye necklace is said, “to protect its wearer from negative vibes.” Considering the legal battle the duchess is currently embroiled in and the coronavirus pandemic, we can see why she chose this specific piece of jewelry.
