After she and Prince Harry were introduced on a blind date, a whirlwind romance that followed. Suddenly, Meghan found herself as one of the most sought-after women in the entire world. She and Prince Harry married in May 2018 in a spectacular ceremony that took place in Windsor, England.

It was a year later that the couple welcomed their first child, a son whom they named Archie Harrison. It was shortly after their wedding that Meghan and Prince Harry announced that they were expecting a baby, following some speculation that the former actress was pregnant. Born in May 2019, the Sussex child is currently 7th in line to the British throne, although his parents have expressed a firm desire to raise him as normally as possible.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor is the first son of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. When Prince Harry and Meghan debuted their new charity, Archewell, they disclosed why they named their son Archie. “Before SussexRoyal, came the idea of ‘Arche’—the Greek word meaning “source of action,’” the two said about their charity name, according to E! News. “Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action.”

Despite being born into the royal family, he doesn’t currently hold a royal title. As a result, Archie has been kept away from the royal spotlight, living in California with his parents, and making a quiet debut in St. George’s Hall at Windsor Castle when he was just a few days old.

The update is special because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have rarely openly given updates about their son. On the day that she and Prince Harry introduced him to the world, the duchess said regarding motherhood: “It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing.”

She later went on to say about Archie when introducing him to the world: “He has the sweetest temperament, he’s really calm.” She further added: “He’s just been a dream. It’s been a special couple of days.”

At the Endeavour Fund Awards, a guest told Hello that Meghan said the then-10-month-old Archie “is into everything.”

While the Sussexes were in Canada, Us Weekly reported that Archie “loves being outside in nature.” This was seemingly confirmed when Prince Harry revealed that Archie saw snow for the first time in Canada and “thought it was bloody brilliant.”
