Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton compete on Instagram

Kate shared a slew of photos promoting her 5 Big Questions initiative this week. The Duchess of Cambridge visited a handful of organizations as part of her child welfare campaign, including the Ely and Caerau Children’s Centre.

Within hours of Kate’s first post, Meghan unexpectedly shared a photo from her previous visit to an animal charity in London. The visit happened a few weeks ago, as Meghan has been in Canada for the past two weeks.

According to Page Six, Buckingham Palace couriers were displeased by Meghan’s post because it was shared while Kate was trying to promote her campaign. We do not know what prompted Meghan to share the post, but it has seemingly renewed the rivalry between her and Kate.

It does not help that Meghan and Prince Harry’s Instagram account now has more followers than Kate and Prince William’s page, Kensington Royal. Fans, of course, were quick to notice the timing of Meghan’s post and heavily criticized her for trying to take the spotlight.

“2 week old photos and you post on the day Catherine is launching an initiative? Very very insecure and sad,” on royal watcher noted.

Meghan Markle enjoys her new life in Canada

Meghan flew to Canada a few weeks back while Harry met with senior royals in Sandringham about their exit. The couple announced their stunning departure on Instagram at the start of the year.

Meghan and Harry revealed that they are stepping down as senior members of the royal family and that they want to become financially independent from the crown. The two also stated that they will be splitting their time between the U.K. and North America, which is why Meghan returned to Canada with their son, Archie Harrison.

Following his meetings with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Prince William, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan will cease using their royal titles as a result of their exit.

Details about the couple’s departure are still being worked out, and they are not expected to finalize anything until the spring. In the meantime, the Sussexes are reportedly looking to purchase a home in Canada, where they will be setting up a second home base.

Archie Harrison played a role in Megxit

There were a lot of factors that went into Harry and Meghan’s decision to step down from the royal spotlight. But sources claim that one of the biggest catalysts was the pushback Meghan received for trying to keep Archie out of the public eye.

Meghan notoriously kept Archie away from the media in the months following his birth last May. The former Suits star refused to take photos shortly after the birth and kept Archie’s christening a private affair.

Meghan and Harry were criticized for not giving the media more access to Archie. Sources claim that some members of the royal family advised them to be more “forthcoming” about their son, which proved to be the “final straw” for Meghan.

Despite the reports, Meghan and Harry have not commented on the rumors surrounding their son. Harry recently reunited with Meghan in Canada, though it is unclear how long he will remain in the country.

Will Meghan Markle and Prince Harry regret their decision?

Considering all the backlash the Sussexes have received, many royal watchers believe Harry and Meghan will ultimately regret their decision to step down.

In a new poll conducted by Express, 83 percent of people thought that Harry and Meghan will have regrets about leaving the royal family. Close to 11,000 people voted in the poll, and only 14 percent thought they would have zero regrets.

Fans also expressed their views in the comments, with some saying that Prince Harry will probably feel worse about it than Meghan when it is all said and done.

“I think Harry will come to regret the decision, but not his wife,” one fan wrote.
