Meghan Markle Once Revealed What ‘Wonderful Part’ of Parenting She Looked Forward To
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is a mother and has been since 2019. Before becoming British royalty, Meghan opened up about parenting. Years before she and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex started a family together, the then-actor shared how she looked forward to it changing one particular aspect of her life.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently a family of three. On a royal tour in the fall of 2018, they announced they were expecting their first child. On May 6, 2019, they became parents when they welcomed their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Unlike Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Meghan and Harry didn’t follow in the footsteps of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Instead of posing for photos outside the Lindo wing of St. Mary’s Hospital with their new baby, they opted for a much more intimate debut. Two days after Archie’s birth, Meghan and Harry introduced him to the world during a private photo call at Windsor Castle.
Now a year old, Archie lives with Meghan and Harry in California. He’s made a few appearances — at his christening, a polo match, and on a royal tour — but for the most part, he’s kept out of the spotlight.
Meghan Markle once said she looked forward to traveling less and being ‘anchored to something grounded’
“I dreamt [of becoming] a successful working actress, which I can now very thankfully tick off the list. And I also dream to have a family,” Meghan told Lifestyle magazine in 2016, according to PopSugar Celebrity.
She continued, saying even though she liked traveling she looked forward to putting down roots.
“It’s all about balance, and I have so much happiness in my career and am fortunate to travel the world and see so many amazing things—it will also be nice to be anchored to something grounded and in the same place,” she said. “Raising a family will be a wonderful part of that.”
In her pre-royal life, Meghan lived in Canada while filming Suits. She also documented her travels on Instagram and her lifestyle blog, The Tig.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their second child
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are getting another addition to their family. On. Feb. 14, 2021, Meghan and Harry issued a pregnancy announcement saying Archie is getting a sibling. Along with a statement, the couple released a photo of themselves with Meghan sporting a growing baby bump. Taken on the grounds of their home in Montecito, California, Meghan and Harry sat in the grass smiling at each other.
The announcement came with a special meaning. They chose to go public with the news on Valentine’s Day because Diana did the same thing when she was expecting Harry. Meghan and Harry’s pregnancy announcement came after Meghan revealed in an essay for The New York Times she experienced a miscarriage in July 2020.
