It took some time for them to settle into their new lives outside of the British royal family, but it looks like Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex have found their stride. After announcing their intent to resign as senior working members of the royal family, the pair left the U.K. for their vacation home in Canada.

After living privately in Canada, the duo returned to the U.K. for their final royal engagements in March 2020, before secretly moving to Meghan’s hometown of LA as the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic began surging across the globe.

The couple has remained in California since then, purchasing their first home in the Montecito community of Santa Barbara. Unfortunately, the royal couple’s new neighbors are super annoyed.

This is why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to Santa Barbara

When news hit the media that the Sussexes and their young son, Archie moved to LA, royal fans and experts were puzzled. The Sussexes has been vocal about their desire for a private and peaceful life. LA, with its celebrities and paparazzi, seemed like the opposite.

However, the Sussexes hunkered down at their friend, Tyler Perry’s $18 million Beverly Hills mansion before purchasing their own $14.7 million in Santa Barabara — one hour away from LA. For the prince, in particular, this is an ideal location. A source told Us Weekly,

Meghan visited Montecito in her teens and fell in love with the picturesque scenery and stunning architecture. Moving there was always an option, but to begin with, she and Harry wanted to give Los Angeles a shot. Unfortunately, Harry absolutely hated it—the timing was so wrong amid the [coronavirus] pandemic and they lacked privacy.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle put a ton of money in their new home

The couple’s new 19,000 square foot home is a massive nine bedrooms and 16 bathroom estate that includes everything from a guest house, a tea house, a children’s cottage, a full-size tennis court, a lap-lane swimming pool, and an elaborate built-in children’s playset.

Though the couple purchased their new home at a discount since it’d been on the market for some time, Daily Mail is reporting that it will cost the Sussexes upward of $4.4 million each year just to keep the home running. Considering the fact that the pair have yet to make any money, this is an eye-watering sum.

Still, the pair have a ton of projects up their sleeves including a reported secret project and their Archewell foundation. They also have a powerhouse Hollywood team behind them and have signed with a speaking firm.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new neighbors are ‘super annoyed’

Montecito is an affluent and health-conscious community that values its privacy. Celebrities like Oprah, Ariana Grande, and Katy Perry among others call it home. Though the Sussexes’ home is super protected, that hasn’t stopped the paparazzi from trying their best to get snaps of the royals.

Apparently this is very annoying to the Sussexes’ new neighbors. TMZ is reporting, “most locals super annoyed and tell us they want the paps to give it a rest because they feel things are getting to the point where everyone’s privacy is being compromised.”

The helicopters are lurking multiple times a day trying to spot Meghan and Prince Harry who have yet to be spotted in public. Hopefully, this will stop soon.
