Though they are still combating a ton of rumors about their new lives, including alleged endorsement deals and reality shows, things are looking up for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Two days after returning to the U.K. following a lengthy hiatus over the holiday season in late 2019, the duo announced they would be stepping down as working members of the British royal family.

Though the Duke of Sussex has endured the press and the British public since the day he was born, the disdain for his mixed-race American wife, proved to be too much for their of them to handle.

“The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back is not one I made lightly,” Prince Harry revealed in a speech.“It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges. And I know I haven’t always got it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option.”

Though the Sussexes are currently living in Canada, they are looking to move to Los Angeles in the summer. But, not everyone is advising them to make the move.

Meghan Markle is going back to her Hollywood roots

You shouldn’t expect to see Meghan, Duchess of Sussex on any fictional dramas again, but she is dipping her toe back into Hollywood. In fact, she’s already signed a voice-over deal with Disney — with her paycheck being donated to Elephants Without Borders.

“Meghan is actively looking for representation. She has begun outreach,” a source tells Us Weekly. “It can be a manager or an agent, but she’s reaching out to people to find someone to represent her for future professional projects.[Meghan] has no plans to do another show like Suits, but Harry’s been encouraging her to do more voice-over work, writing, producing and directing in her free time.”

The duchess is thrilled with the freedom of her new non-royal life. “Meghan is so happy,” an insider explained to US Weekly, “She doesn’t come from millions. She’s worked hard to get to where she is today. Meghan loves the idea of being the breadwinner. She has no plans to do another show like Suits, but Harry’s been encouraging her to do more voice-over work, writing, producing and directing in her free time.” As for Prince Harry, “He’s really excited about the next chapter in their lives.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are looking for a home in Los Angeles

In order to dive into her passions and begin making some money, Markle is going to need to be in the center of it all — her hometown of Los Angeles. Though we don’t think she and the prince want to live in L.A. full time, they are planning to hit up Hollywood this summer as they become financially independent.

“They have started to look at homes online and are in the process of interviewing security teams,” a source close to the Sussexes told E! News. “They are getting their ducks in a row and seeing if it’s logistically possible. They’ve reached out to people in L.A. and would like to assemble a team of locals. Meghan would like to be able to do meetings at the house and also be able to host friends and entertain. Those are two things that are important to her.”

This is why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are being told not to move to Los Angeles

Though L.A. might seem like a good idea for the Sussexes in theory — the security issues and traffic would make it a nightmare for the entire city. “Look, I’m done beating around the bush about this, ok?” royal commentator Justin Sylvester told Express. “First of all, the traffic here is going to be a mess. Don’t come here, we love you. We love an interracial couple here but please don’t come here.”

Sylvester also thinks the move to LA might be even more damaging to Markle’s image with the Brits. “Meghan didn’t want people to think that she was as crafty as saying, ‘I’m going to take this man from here and go straight to LA and try to run this business and get that money,'” he said. “I am all about her living her best life and doing her thing. I just can’t handle the traffic right now.”
