Meghan Markle hasn’t talked to her father, Thomas Markle Sr., in years. But that hasn’t stopped him from talking about her. Thomas has gone on several news programs pleading for his daughter to speak to him. He has also stated that he wants to meet Prince Harry in person as well as his grandchildren. But since that hasn’t happened, Thomas is going to the Sussexes — or at least where he thinks the duke and duchess will be this summer.

He’s going to London for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, and he hopes to meet with Prince Charles too. He says he and the Prince of Wales have a lot in common, including being “ghosted” by their children.

Meghan’s father says he wants to thank Prince Charles for walking his daughter down the aisle

On April 25, during an interview with GB News, Thomas made the announcement that he would be traveling to the U.K. for the queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee. And while he’s there Meghan’s dad hopes to meet and speak with his daughter’s in-laws.

Thomas told host Dan Wootton that he wants to personally thank Prince Charles for walking Meghan down the aisle on her wedding day.

Many royal fans recall that Thomas was initially supposed to walk his daughter down the aisle. But when it became apparent that wasn’t going to happen, the Prince of Wales stepped in to do it.

But that’s not the only reason Thomas would like to meet with the future king.

Thomas also wants to talk to Charles about how they’ve ‘been ghosted’ by Meghan and Harry

The festivities for the monarch’s Platinum Jubilee are taking place from June 2 through June 5 with the Trooping the Colour on June 2.

Thomas explained that he wants to talk with Charles because of what they have in common with “being ghosted” by Meghan and Harry.

“I think we have a lot in common now,” Thomas said. “We’ve pretty much both been ghosted by our children, so I would really enjoy talking to him if that’s possible. That would be great.”

Thomas also stated he’d like to meet the queen.

It’s not yet known whether Meghan and Harry will be in the U.K. for the Platinum Jubilee

It doesn’t seem likely that Thomas will get the opportunity to meet Prince Charles. But stranger things have happened, so we’ll just have to stay tuned.

Thomas’ plan to finally meet his son-in-law in person and see his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, likely won’t happen either. At this time there is no guarantee that the Sussexes will return to the U.K. for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. And it’s not even certain that the monarch herself will attend any of the events.

A palace source told The Telegraph: “The assumption must now be that the queen will not be present at events. If Her Majesty does attend, it will be decided on the day, and she will be accompanied by another member of the royal family.”
