Popstar Meghan Trainor skyrocketed to fame with her 2014 debut single “All About That Bass,” which quickly became a Billboard number-one hit. As a relatively new celebrity in the music scene, Trainor is no stranger to cultural hot topics, with many of her albums tackling topics like body image and womanhood.

Her debut single itself was a bit controversial, with some feminist critics debating whether it was truly a body-positive song or not. But despite her fearless approach to such social issues, Trainor recently revealed that there was one situation that made her feel very, very uncomfortable, and it has something to do with her recent pregnancy.

The rising career of Meghan Trainor

Trainor first achieved widespread commercial success in 2014 with her album Title, which featured the aforementioned hit “All About That Bass.”

However, she had actually been working in music for years prior, singing in her childhood church (her father was a music teacher, according to the Boston Globe) and performing various covers in bars across her home state of Massachusetts.

Since 2014, Trainor has released four major albums, most recently 2020’s A Very Trainor Christmas. Over this time, she’s won a Grammy, as well as numerous additional awards, including Billboard Music Awards, a People’s Choice Award, and — as reported by BusinessWire — the designation of 2014’s “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” by the Music Business Association.

Meghan Trainor is married to a ‘Spy Kid’

Trainor is married to actor Daryl Sabara, who played one of the lead roles in the Spy Kids film franchise. According to People magazine, Trainor and Sabara met at a house party in the same year as Trainor’s debut album released, and the two stars got married on the same day that Trainor turned 25.

It didn’t take long for the two to start growing their little family. In 2019, E! reported that Trainor’s top goal for 2020 was to have children. “I want triplets,” she told the outlet, saying she always wanted a bigger family. Her wish came true, partially.

Just under two years after getting hitched, Trainor told The Today Show in October 2020 that she was expecting her first child (a baby boy) with Sabara. People magazine further noted that based on various hints and clues in the news and social media, Trainor will likely give birth in February 2021.

Until then, fans will have to wait to meet Trainor’s first child, and Trainor and her husband are waiting for something else: Sex.

According to Yahoo! Style, one in six couples don’t have sex while they’re pregnant. And Trainor recently revealed that she is part of that statistic.

“Maybe this is weird, but mentally I can’t have sex while our son is in between us,” Trainor told Today. She admits that the different pregnancy apps that she uses tell her that pregnant sex is enjoyable, but she simply can’t wrap her mind around that. “[A]ll I can think about is that there’s a little boy in my belly,” she told the outlet.

That hasn’t kept her husband from being busy in other ways while Trainor is pregnant, though, saying that she was constantly having him buy snacks for her. “If I said, ‘I want Fritos,’ he’d be like, ‘Yes, ma’am! Right away!'” Trainor said.
