Michael Strahan Sits Down With Many Celebrities but Named Some Stars He Enjoys Interviewing ‘More Than Others’

Michael Strahan has interviewed many celebrities on 'GMA,' but there are some stars he enjoys interviewing more than the others. This looks at Strahan’s NFL career with the Giants, as well as his TV career. It also looks at the celebs he enjoys interviewing and how he wishes he could redo every single interview.

Many professional athletes have become successful in jobs outside of sports, but maybe none more than former New York Giants star Michael Strahan. Through his work on Good Morning America and previously on Live With Kelly and Michael, Strahan has consistently found himself in the center of meaningful discussions, and he has interviewed celebrities just as big, if not bigger, than himself.

However, while he has sat down with an abundance of big-name stars, there are some celebs he enjoys interviewing “more than others”.

Throughout his NFL career, Strahan was among the best of the best in the league.

He was a seven-time Pro Bowler, earned first-team All-Pro honors four times, and was the 2001 AP Defensive Player of the Year. Strahan also holds the NFL record for most sacks in a single season and later helped the Giants win the Super Bowl during his final year in 2007. His efforts ultimately earned him a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Following his legendary football career, Strahan has potentially become just as big of a star in the TV world. According to his ABC News bio, Strahan co-hosted Live With Kelly and Michael alongside Kelly Ripa from 2012 to 2016 and was a two-time Daytime Emmy co-winner for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.

He has since joined GMA as a co-anchor and has continued having a ton of success, helping the show win two consecutive Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Morning Program back in 2017 and 2018.

While with GMA, Strahan has also interviewed stars on the red carpet as he and his co-anchor Robin Roberts have co-hosted the Oscars’ red carpet show.

He enjoys interviewing some stars ‘more than others’

Strahan recently appeared on 10 Questions With Kyle Brandt, and he discussed his experience as the interviewer and interviewee, saying he has a “great appreciation” for people who are good at conducting interviews, as they must “be prepared for anything.”

However, when asked if he has an interview he is most proud of, Strahan said he doesn’t necessarily have “a favorite,” but there are people he enjoys “to interview more than others.”

“Jamie Foxx is always fun,” Strahan said on the April 28 episode. “… Tiffany Haddish is gonna make you laugh. I love Liam Neeson, Bryan Cranston, Dame Judi Dench, Helen Mirren’s one of my favorites, Priyanka Chopra. People with a lot of great energy and who know how to just come on and have fun and don’t take themselves too seriously, that’s always the best guests to have, and those are just to name a few. Hugh Jackman [is] one of my favorites.”

Throughout his two careers in football and television, Strahan has always strived to be the best. This has made him wish he could go back and do every single interview differently.

“Every single one, every single day,” he said to Brandt. “Because I’m like, ‘Ah, I could have said that differently; ah, my tone wasn’t right with that one; ah why did I use that word? Oh, why didn’t I listen; why didn’t I follow that up?’ It’s like you always are stressing over an interview because you know what you expect. Like you said, you’re a perfectionist, and I am too, so it’s kind of hard to ever be happy.”

Strahan, however, admitted that if he’s a “little less disappointed” with how an interview went, it must have been a “decent” one.

You can watch Michael Strahan on GMA every weekday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on ABC.
