Nicole Polizzi announced she is retiring from ‘Jersey Shore’

The reality star announced on her podcast, It’s Happening With Snooki & Joey that she is quitting reality TV. She revealed that it all became too much for her.

“I am not coming back to Jersey Shore [Family Vacation] for a season 4, if there is one,” she said. “And there’s a lot of reasons why, but the main reason is really … I’m just like, I just can’t do it anymore.”

Polizzi added, “I hate being away from the kids. I don’t like partying three days in a row. It’s just not my life anymore. And I wanna be home with the kids. You know, like, I don’t mind here and there going to a dinner or whatever, but it’s just really hard on me to leave the kids and film the show.”

She also talked about her decision on The Mel Robbins Show. The reality star said filming was different for her.

“I think when I was, like, actually forcing myself to be in a situation that I wasn’t happy in. Like, I was forcing myself to be ‘happy,’ and I’m like, ‘That’s not me.’ I’m not genuinely happy,” she said. “That’s when I’m like, ‘I’m out.’”

Angelina Pivarnick hopes Sammi Giancola will return

The rest of the cast members have been taking their time to react to the news. Angelina Pivarnick was the first one to talk about her future plans and whether she still enjoying being on the show.

“I am,” Pivarnick told Page Six. “I’m not quitting the show.” There might be room for another person on the cast now that Polizzi leaving. Pivarnick talked about wanting her former cast member to return.

“I said this in the beginning — like, years ago — that [Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola] should return, but she’s living her best life,” she told Us Weekly. “She’s getting married soon — good for her. She looks so amazing.”

The chances of that happening are pretty slim. Giancola said in her statement before that she refused to return because she is in a different place in her life now.

The rest of the cast hasn’t given reactions to Polizzi’s decision. Now Sorrentino has revealed that he doesn’t agree with it.

“I didn’t agree with it, but I have to support my sister,” he told Us Weekly. “I had texted her, called her and tried to convince her to reconsider but she has to do what’s right for her and we have to support her as a family. Maybe she’ll come back and revisit, maybe she’ll have a change of heart. Who knows? I’m hopeful for the future.”

Vinny Guadagnino also talked about Polizzi’s difficult position as a mother. “It’s like, you want to do this thing so bad but you get pulled back in to your newborn baby and stuff,” he said. “So hopefully, she can find a way — if there is one out there — to balance both. But right now, the scale, I think, was kind of tipping toward, it wasn’t working out.”

Guadagnino and Sorrentino are hoping Polizzi will still be a part of the show in some way. Time will tell if they will get what they want.
